Škoda Octavia ADAS Calibration

Your Škoda Octavia's dashboard is warning that Front Assist is unavailable – and now cruise control won't engage either. The Octavia is the UK's best-selling Škoda, and its VW Group MQB platform means the radar and camera layout is shared with the VW Golf. If the Golf is our most-calibrated model overall, the Octavia is its Škoda equivalent – same triggers, same sensor positions, same calibration procedure.

ADAS Systems on the Škoda Octavia

The Octavia comes in two generations with meaningfully different ADAS configurations:

Octavia III (5E, 2013–2020):

  • Front Assist with basic AEB – standard from 2017 facelift onwards
  • ACC – optional, on Elegance and L&K trims
  • Lane Assist – optional, windscreen camera-based

Octavia IV (NX5, 2020+):

  • Front Assist with predictive pedestrian detection – standard across all trims
  • ACC with predictive speed adaptation – standard on SE L and above
  • Lane Assist with active steering correction
  • Side Assist – blind spot monitoring from SE L trim
  • Travel Assist – semi-autonomous driving combining ACC + Lane Assist

The Octavia IV is significantly more sensor-dense. A bumper repair on a 2017 Octavia III might only affect the front radar, while the same repair on a 2022 Octavia IV could impact radar, camera, and parking sensors.

Common Octavia ADAS Triggers

Bumper Repair – The Most Common Trigger

The Octavia's front radar sensor sits behind the VW Group grille badge – the same location as the Superb and Kodiaq. If your Octavia's bumper was removed for collision repair, paintwork, or even a new numberplate bracket installation, the radar alignment may have shifted. Front Assist and ACC both rely on this single sensor.

After Windscreen Replacement

If your Octavia IV has Travel Assist, the windscreen camera handles Lane Assist, sign recognition, and predictive ACC. After windscreen replacement, static camera recalibration is mandatory – a step many windscreen fitters cannot complete for Škoda.

Cat S/N Octavias

The Octavia is one of the most common vehicles in the UK salvage market. If you've purchased a Cat S or Cat N Octavia and the previous damage involved the front end, the radar sensor may have been disconnected or replaced without recalibration. We see this regularly – the car drives fine, but ACC and Front Assist remain permanently inactive.

Škoda Octavia Calibration Pricing

ServicePrice
Windscreen Calibration£199
Radar/Sensor Calibration£349
Collision Calibration£349
Full System Reset£499

Most Octavia owners need radar calibration after bumper work – that's our £349 fixed rate. If you've bought a Cat S Octavia with multiple system faults, the £499 Full System Reset covers every sensor on the vehicle.

Škoda Octavia ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Škoda Octavia

Yes. The Octavia III (5E) has fewer ADAS sensors — typically just front radar and optional windscreen camera. The Octavia IV (NX5) adds Side Assist rear radars, predictive ACC with camera input, and Travel Assist. Calibration on the IV involves more systems and takes longer. Our technicians handle both generations.
