Subaru Crosstrek ADAS Calibration

The Crosstrek replaced the XV as Subaru's compact crossover – and like every EyeSight-equipped Subaru, its entire ADAS system depends on two stereo cameras behind the windscreen. No front radar, no bumper sensors for cruise control. When the windscreen is replaced on a Crosstrek, both cameras must be recalibrated using Subaru-specific targets that generic ADAS equipment cannot replicate.

ADAS Systems on Your Subaru Crosstrek

The Crosstrek (2024+ UK) sits on the Subaru Global Platform (SGP) with the latest EyeSight configuration:

  • EyeSight Driver Assist Technology – Subaru's proprietary stereo camera system. Two colour cameras behind the windscreen measure distance through stereoscopic disparity
  • Pre-Collision Braking (PCB) – AEB detecting vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists. Handles both city and highway speeds using the stereo cameras alone
  • EyeSight Adaptive Cruise Control – maintains following distance via camera-based distance measurement, no radar involved
  • Lane Departure Warning – alerts when drifting toward lane markings
  • Lane Keep Assist – active steering correction to maintain lane position
  • Lane Sway Warning – detects erratic steering suggesting fatigue or distraction
  • Lead Vehicle Start Alert – notifies when the car ahead moves in traffic

The Crosstrek's e-BOXER hybrid drivetrain does not affect EyeSight operation. No front radar, no bumper-mounted sensors for ADAS – the stereo cameras handle everything.

Why Your Subaru Crosstrek Needs EyeSight Calibration

After Windscreen Replacement

This is the primary reason Crosstrek owners contact us. Both EyeSight cameras are mounted directly to the windscreen. When the glass is replaced, the cameras lose their precise factory alignment relative to each other and to the vehicle. Subaru-specific targets – a proprietary pattern placed at exact height and distance on the vehicle's centreline – are required. Our Windscreen Calibration at £199 covers both cameras.

"EyeSight Disabled" Dashboard Warning

When the Crosstrek displays "EyeSight Disabled," all connected systems shut down – Pre-Collision Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, and Lead Vehicle Start Alert. The most common cause is a windscreen replacement where calibration wasn't completed.

After Front-End Impact

Unlike most brands, the Crosstrek has no front bumper radar – so minor bumper scuffs typically don't trigger ADAS faults. However, any impact that affects the windscreen area, A-pillars, or camera mounting bracket requires full EyeSight recalibration.

Subaru Crosstrek ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Subaru Crosstrek

The Crosstrek has a newer generation of EyeSight with a wider viewing angle and improved processing compared to the XV. However, both use dual stereo cameras behind the windscreen with no front radar. Calibration uses Subaru-specific targets on both models.
