ADAS Calibration for Subaru models

Subaru is the only manufacturer that uses two cameras instead of one. EyeSight - Subaru's proprietary ADAS system - relies on a stereo camera pair mounted behind the windscreen, with no front radar on most models. That dual-camera architecture means calibration requires Subaru-specific targets and procedures that generic ADAS equipment cannot handle. ADAS Line calibrates every EyeSight system at 70+ UK workshops, from £199.

Subaru ADAS Calibration Cost

Calibration costs depend on your specific Subaru model, which ADAS systems need recalibration, and whether mobile or workshop service is required.

Every Subaru model has different ADAS sensors fitted depending on trim level and year. Share your registration and we’ll confirm exactly which systems need calibration.

What Subaru ADAS Calibration Involves

The three most common calibration scenarios for Subaru vehicles — each linked to a dedicated service page.

£199 Starting price

Windscreen Camera Recalibration

Every Subaru with a forward-facing camera — including models with Lane Departure Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Autonomous Emergency Braking — requires camera recalibration after windscreen replacement. This is the most common Subaru ADAS job we carry out.

Radar & Sensor Alignment

Subaru models fitted with Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Detection, or Rear Cross Traffic Alert carry radar modules behind the bumper or grille. Any bodywork repair or bumper removal requires sensor recalibration using manufacturer-specific targets and procedures.

Radar calibration — from £349

Post-Collision Full Check

After any collision repair involving a Subaru, multiple ADAS sensors may be disturbed simultaneously — including cameras, radar modules, and parking sensors. A comprehensive post-collision calibration restores every system to factory tolerances and satisfies insurer documentation requirements.

Subaru EyeSight Systems We Calibrate

EyeSight Driver Assist Technology is Subaru's umbrella name for its ADAS suite - and it works fundamentally differently from every other brand. Where most manufacturers pair a single forward camera with a front radar, Subaru's stereo cameras measure distance through stereoscopic disparity. Here's what those dual cameras power:

  • Pre-Collision Braking (PCB) - Subaru's automatic emergency braking. The stereo cameras detect vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists ahead. Activates at both city and highway speeds without needing a separate radar sensor.
  • EyeSight Adaptive Cruise Control - Maintains distance to the vehicle ahead using the stereo cameras alone. No front radar means the bumper isn't involved - but the windscreen is everything.
  • Lane Departure Warning - Alerts you when the vehicle drifts toward lane markings without indicating.
  • Lane Sway Warning - Detects erratic steering patterns that suggest fatigue or distraction. Unique to Subaru - most brands bundle this into a generic driver attention system.
  • Lane Keep Assist / Advanced Lane Centering - Active steering intervention to keep the vehicle centred. Available on newer Forester and Outback models.
  • Lead Vehicle Start Alert - Notifies you when the car ahead moves in traffic. Depends on calibrated stereo cameras to function.
  • DriverFocus Distraction Mitigation - Interior-facing camera on select Outback and Forester models. Monitors driver attention. Separate from the EyeSight cameras and calibrated independently.

Subaru Models - Full ADAS Calibration Coverage

The Forester is the most common Subaru we calibrate - EyeSight has been standard since 2019, and the all-new 2025 model adds upgraded EyeSight with Emergency Driving Stop. The Outback has carried EyeSight since 2014, the longest-running EyeSight model in the UK range. The XV (now replaced by the Crosstrek) remains common on UK roads with EyeSight from 2017 onward.

We calibrate ADAS systems on 6 Subaru models across the Subaru Global Platform (Forester, Outback, Crosstrek, XV, Levorg) and the e-Subaru Global Platform (Solterra).

Most Subaru EyeSight calibrations fall under our £199 windscreen calibration - because the stereo cameras behind the windscreen are the primary sensor system, and windscreen replacement is the most common trigger. No hidden fees, includes a full diagnostic scan.

Subaru ADAS Calibration — Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about ADAS calibration for your Subaru

Yes – this is mandatory. Both EyeSight stereo cameras are mounted directly to the windscreen. When the glass is replaced, the cameras lose their factory alignment. Without recalibration using Subaru-specific targets, Pre-Collision Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Lane Departure Warning will not function. Our [Windscreen Calibration](/windscreen-calibration) at £199 covers both cameras.
