Subaru XV ADAS Calibration

The XV was Subaru's compact crossover before the Crosstrek took over – no longer sold new in the UK but still common on the road with EyeSight from 2017 onward. The same stereo camera architecture applies: two cameras behind the windscreen, no front radar, and windscreen replacement as the primary calibration trigger. If your XV's EyeSight stopped working after a glass change, both cameras need recalibrating.

ADAS Systems on Your Subaru XV

The XV (2017+ with EyeSight) on the Subaru Global Platform carries:

  • EyeSight Driver Assist Technology – dual stereo cameras behind the windscreen
  • Pre-Collision Braking (PCB) – AEB for vehicles, pedestrians, and obstacles at city and highway speeds
  • EyeSight Adaptive Cruise Control – camera-based following distance, no front radar
  • Lane Departure Warning – drift alert when approaching lane markings without indicating
  • Lane Sway Warning – detects erratic steering patterns suggesting fatigue
  • Lead Vehicle Start Alert – notifies when the car ahead moves in traffic

The XV does not have DriverFocus or Advanced Lane Centering – those features arrived with the Forester (2019+) and Outback (2020+). Its EyeSight is the same generation as the Impreza of the same era.

When Your Subaru XV Needs EyeSight Calibration

After Windscreen Replacement

Both EyeSight cameras are bonded to the windscreen. When the glass is replaced, both must be recalibrated using Subaru-specific targets – a proprietary pattern at precise height and distance. Our Windscreen Calibration at £199 covers both cameras.

"EyeSight Disabled" Warning

When the XV displays "EyeSight Disabled," Pre-Collision Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, and Lead Vehicle Start Alert all deactivate. The most common cause is a windscreen replacement where calibration wasn't completed.

No Bumper Radar – No Bumper Calibration

The XV has no front bumper radar – ADAS relies entirely on the stereo cameras. Bumper repairs don't trigger EyeSight faults. However, any impact affecting the windscreen area or camera mounting requires full recalibration.
