Suzuki S-Cross ADAS Calibration

The Suzuki S-Cross changed its entire ADAS architecture with the 2022 redesign – switching from Radar Brake Support (RBS) with a bumper-mounted radar to Dual Sensor Brake Support (DSBS) with a windscreen camera and laser. If you own an S-Cross, the year determines which system you have and where the sensors sit. Getting the calibration right starts with identifying the correct generation.

ADAS Systems on Your Suzuki S-Cross

Pre-2022 S-Cross (RBS)

  • Radar Brake Support (RBS) – Millimetre-wave radar in the front bumper/grille area. Triggers AEB at highway speeds.
  • ACC – Radar-based adaptive cruise control
  • Lane Departure Warning (LDW) – Camera-based

RBS puts the critical sensor in the front bumper. Bumper repair or front-end collision triggers calibration – not windscreen work (for the braking system).

2022+ S-Cross (DSBS)

  • Dual Sensor Brake Support (DSBS) – Monocular camera + laser behind the windscreen
  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) – Available on higher trims
  • Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) – Rear radar sensors
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) – Rear radar sensors
  • Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) – Camera-based
  • Lane Departure Warning (LDW) – Camera-based

The 2022 redesign moved the primary AEB sensor from the bumper to the windscreen. This fundamentally changes which repairs trigger calibration.

When Your S-Cross Needs Calibration

Pre-2022: After Bumper Repair

RBS radar sits in the front bumper area. Collision repair, bumper replacement, or grille work shifts the radar. "Radar Brake Support malfunction" warnings mean radar calibration is needed – our £349 service.

2022+: After Windscreen Replacement

DSBS camera and laser sit behind the windscreen. Glass replacement triggers calibration. Our £199 Windscreen Calibration restores DSBS, LDW, TSR, and ACC camera input.

BSM and RCTA After Rear Damage

Both generations (where equipped) have rear radar for BSM and RCTA. Rear bumper repair or replacement affects these sensors. If blind spot warnings stop working after rear-end bodywork, recalibration is needed.

Suzuki S-Cross ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Suzuki S-Cross

Model year is the key. Pre-2022 S-Cross models use Radar Brake Support (bumper radar). The 2022 redesign switched to Dual Sensor Brake Support (windscreen camera + laser). Check your dashboard — RBS shows "Radar Brake Support" warnings, DSBS shows "Dual Sensor Brake Support" warnings. Or get a quote with your registration and we'll confirm.
