ADAS Calibration for Suzuki models

Suzuki is the only manufacturer that splits its emergency braking across three distinct technologies - Dual Camera Brake Support (DCBS), Dual Sensor Brake Support (DSBS), and Radar Brake Support (RBS). Each uses different sensor hardware, mounted in different locations, and each requires its own calibration procedure. Your Swift uses a different system to your neighbour's Vitara, and neither matches the Across (which is a Toyota underneath). ADAS Line calibrates every Suzuki Safety Support system at 70+ UK workshops, from £199.

Suzuki ADAS Calibration Cost

Calibration costs depend on your specific Suzuki model, which ADAS systems need recalibration, and whether mobile or workshop service is required.

Every Suzuki model has different ADAS sensors fitted depending on trim level and year. Share your registration and we’ll confirm exactly which systems need calibration.

What Suzuki ADAS Calibration Involves

The three most common calibration scenarios for Suzuki vehicles — each linked to a dedicated service page.

£199 Starting price

Windscreen Camera Recalibration

Every Suzuki with a forward-facing camera — including models with Lane Departure Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Autonomous Emergency Braking — requires camera recalibration after windscreen replacement. This is the most common Suzuki ADAS job we carry out.

Radar & Sensor Alignment

Suzuki models fitted with Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Detection, or Rear Cross Traffic Alert carry radar modules behind the bumper or grille. Any bodywork repair or bumper removal requires sensor recalibration using manufacturer-specific targets and procedures.

Post-Collision Full Check

After any collision repair involving a Suzuki, multiple ADAS sensors may be disturbed simultaneously — including cameras, radar modules, and parking sensors. A comprehensive post-collision calibration restores every system to factory tolerances and satisfies insurer documentation requirements.

Three Suzuki Braking Systems - Three Calibration Procedures

Most manufacturers standardise on one AEB platform across their range. Suzuki uses three, and each one determines which sensors need calibrating and why:

  • Dual Camera Brake Support (DCBS) - A pair of stereo cameras behind the windscreen near the rear-view mirror. Used on the Ignis and older Swift models. After windscreen replacement, both cameras must be recalibrated as a pair. Similar concept to Subaru's EyeSight but a separate Suzuki system.
  • Dual Sensor Brake Support (DSBS) - A monocular camera combined with a laser ranging device, both mounted behind the windscreen. Used on the current Swift, newer Vitara (2024+), S-Cross (2022+), and Jimny. Windscreen replacement triggers calibration for both the camera and laser sensor.
  • Radar Brake Support (RBS) - A millimetre-wave radar sensor in the front bumper or grille area. Used on older Vitara (2015-2023), older S-Cross, and Baleno. Bumper repair or front-end collision triggers calibration - not windscreen work.

Suzuki Safety Support also includes ACC, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Weaving Alert - each tied to whichever sensor architecture your model uses.

When Your Suzuki Needs ADAS Recalibration

After Windscreen Replacement

If your Suzuki has DCBS or DSBS - which covers the Swift, Ignis, Vitara (2024+), S-Cross (2022+), and Jimny - the cameras and laser sensor sit behind the windscreen. A new windscreen means mandatory recalibration. Your windscreen fitter replaces the glass but cannot recalibrate Suzuki's sensors. This is our £199 Windscreen Calibration service.

After Bumper Repair or Front-End Collision

Older Vitara and S-Cross models with RBS have a millimetre-wave radar in the front bumper area. Any frontal impact, bumper replacement, or grille work shifts this sensor. You'll see a "Radar Brake Support malfunction" warning on the dashboard. This requires radar recalibration - a different procedure from windscreen-mounted systems.

Dashboard Warnings You Don't Recognise

"Dual Camera Brake Support" or "DSBS" warnings appear on the dashboard, and most owners - and most garages - don't know what they mean. Suzuki's system names are unique to the brand. If your local mechanic can't diagnose the fault, our IMI-certified technicians use OEM-grade diagnostic tools that read Suzuki-specific codes.

Suzuki Across and Swace - Not Suzuki ADAS

The Across is a Toyota RAV4 PHEV rebadge. The Swace is a Toyota Corolla estate rebadge. Both run Toyota Safety Sense, not Suzuki Safety Support - different sensors, different calibration procedures, different diagnostic protocols. If you own an Across or Swace, your calibration follows Toyota procedures, not the Suzuki process described on this page.

Suzuki Models - Full ADAS Calibration Coverage

The Vitara is our most commonly calibrated Suzuki - particularly 2015-2023 models with RBS radar after bumper repairs, and the 2024 facelift with DSBS II after windscreen replacements. The Swift carries DSBS on current models, and the S-Cross transitioned from RBS to DSBS with its 2022 redesign, so the correct calibration depends on the model year.

We calibrate 8 Suzuki models across all three braking systems - plus Toyota Safety Sense on the Across and Swace.

Suzuki ADAS Calibration — Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about ADAS calibration for your Suzuki

All three are Suzuki's emergency braking systems, but each uses different sensors. DCBS uses stereo cameras behind the windscreen (Ignis, older Swift). DSBS uses a monocular camera plus laser behind the windscreen (current Swift, Vitara 2024+, S-Cross 2022+). RBS uses a millimetre-wave radar in the front bumper (older Vitara, older S-Cross). The calibration procedure depends entirely on which system your Suzuki has.
