ADAS Calibration for Toyota models

"Pre-Collision System malfunction - visit your dealer." If your Toyota's dashboard is showing this message, your Toyota Safety Sense system needs attention. In many cases, this means the front radar or windscreen camera has lost calibration - after a collision, bumper repair, or windscreen replacement. You don't need the dealer. Our IMI-certified technicians recalibrate Toyota Safety Sense at 70+ workshops across the UK.

Toyota ADAS Calibration Cost

Calibration costs depend on your specific Toyota model, which ADAS systems need recalibration, and whether mobile or workshop service is required.

Every Toyota model has different ADAS sensors fitted depending on trim level and year. Share your registration and we’ll confirm exactly which systems need calibration.

What Toyota ADAS Calibration Involves

The three most common calibration scenarios for Toyota vehicles — each linked to a dedicated service page.

£199 Starting price

Windscreen Camera Recalibration

Every Toyota with a forward-facing camera — including models with Lane Departure Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Autonomous Emergency Braking — requires camera recalibration after windscreen replacement. This is the most common Toyota ADAS job we carry out.

Radar & Sensor Alignment

Toyota models fitted with Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Detection, or Rear Cross Traffic Alert carry radar modules behind the bumper or grille. Any bodywork repair or bumper removal requires sensor recalibration using manufacturer-specific targets and procedures.

Post-Collision Full Check

After any collision repair involving a Toyota, multiple ADAS sensors may be disturbed simultaneously — including cameras, radar modules, and parking sensors. A comprehensive post-collision calibration restores every system to factory tolerances and satisfies insurer documentation requirements.

Toyota ADAS Systems We Calibrate

Toyota brands its ADAS package as "Toyota Safety Sense" (TSS), with generational upgrades that add more capabilities:

  • Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) - First generation. Includes Pre-Collision System and Lane Departure Alert.
  • TSS 2.0 - Adds full-speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assist, and Road Sign Assist.
  • TSS 2.5 / TSS 3.0 - Adds intersection support, motorcycle and cyclist detection, and Emergency Steering Assist.

The individual systems within TSS:

  • Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) - Toyota's adaptive cruise control. Uses the front radar to maintain distance from the vehicle ahead. The name tells you what makes it different - it uses radar, not just camera.
  • Pre-Collision System (PCS) - Automatic emergency braking. Detects vehicles, pedestrians, and (in TSS 2.5+) cyclists.
  • Lane Departure Alert (LDA) - Camera-based lane departure warning with steering assist on newer models.
  • Lane Tracing Assist (LTA) - Active lane centering that works with DRCC on highways. Available from TSS 2.0.
  • Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) - Rear radar sensors detecting vehicles in your blind spots.
  • Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA) - Warns of approaching traffic when reversing.
  • Automatic High Beam (AHB) - Camera-based headlight control.

Understanding which TSS generation your Toyota has determines which sensors need calibration. TSS 3.0 vehicles have more cameras and radar modules than original TSS models.

When Your Toyota Needs ADAS Recalibration

"Pre-Collision System Malfunction" Dashboard Message

This is the exact message Toyota displays when its AEB system detects a sensor fault. People search this phrase verbatim - and the answer is usually a radar or camera misalignment that professional recalibration resolves. Your dealer can do it, but so can we - at a fixed price without the dealership wait.

After Bumper Repair or Collision

Toyota's front radar sits behind the grille area. Bumper repairs, front-end collisions, and grille replacements all misalign this sensor. Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and Pre-Collision System both deactivate until recalibrated. Our radar calibration covers this.

After Windscreen Replacement

Toyota's Lane Departure Alert, Lane Tracing Assist, and Automatic High Beam all rely on the windscreen-mounted camera. Windscreen replacement requires camera recalibration to restore these systems.

Lane Tracing Assist (LTA) Not Working

If your Toyota's LTA has stopped providing steering input on the highway, the windscreen camera has likely lost alignment. This can happen after windscreen replacement or even from extreme temperature changes affecting the camera mounting.

Toyota Models - Full ADAS Calibration Coverage

The Toyota RAV4 is the best-selling Toyota in the UK and generates the highest calibration demand, with the C-HR and Yaris Cross following closely. Older models like the Auris still carry Toyota Safety Sense and regularly need calibration after repairs.

We calibrate Toyota Safety Sense on every Toyota model in the UK.
