Vauxhall Combo-e Life ADAS Calibration

The Vauxhall Combo-e Life is the fully electric version of the Combo Life MPV – a family vehicle built on the same Stellantis EMP2 Van platform as the Vivaro. It shares its sensor hardware with the Citroën e-Berlingo and Peugeot e-Rifter, meaning identical camera positions and identical calibration requirements. If your Combo-e Life's AEB or Lane Departure Warning has flagged faults after a repair, the forward camera behind the windscreen is the most likely cause.

ADAS Systems on Your Vauxhall Combo-e Life

The Combo-e Life (2021+) carries a camera-focused ADAS configuration suited to its role as a family MPV:

  • Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) – windscreen camera detects vehicles and pedestrians. Standard on all trims. Activates at speeds up to 85 mph.
  • Lane Departure Warning (LDW) – audible alert when crossing lane markings without indicating. Camera-dependent.
  • Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) – reads speed limit signs through the windscreen camera.
  • Driver Drowsiness Alert – monitors steering patterns for fatigue. Particularly relevant on longer family journeys.
  • Rear Parking Sensors – ultrasonic sensors in the rear bumper, standard across the range.
  • Rear View Camera – available on higher trims, mounted in the rear bumper area.

The Combo-e Life does not typically include Adaptive Cruise Control or front-mounted radar – its ADAS is almost entirely camera-based. The forward camera sits behind the windscreen at the top of the cab, in the same position as the Combo Life petrol and diesel versions.

Common Calibration Triggers for the Combo-e Life

After windscreen replacement

The Combo-e Life's large, upright windscreen is exposed to stone chips – especially for families using motorways regularly. Every windscreen replacement requires camera calibration to restore AEB, LDW, and TSR. Most glass companies can replace the windscreen but don't carry the Stellantis diagnostic tools for the calibration step.

After front bumper repair

Although the Combo-e Life lacks front radar, the front bumper houses parking sensors on some trims. A bumper repair or replacement after a low-speed impact can shift these sensors. If rear or front parking distance readings feel inaccurate after bodywork, recalibration resolves it.

Electric drivetrain and ADAS interaction

The Combo-e Life's AEB system accounts for the EV's regenerative braking profile when calculating stopping distances. If the camera calibration is off, AEB may trigger later or earlier than intended because the system misjudges the vehicle's deceleration capability.

Vauxhall Combo-e Life ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Vauxhall Combo-e Life

Yes. The Combo-e Life uses identical ADAS sensor hardware in the same positions as the petrol and diesel Combo Life. The calibration process is the same — the electric drivetrain doesn't change the sensor configuration.
