Chrysler Grand Voyager ADAS Calibration

The Chrysler Grand Voyager was the large family MPV – seven seats, sliding doors, and a reputation for hauling families and wheelchair-accessible conversions across the UK. Its ADAS is basic compared to the 300C: Blind Spot Monitoring and ParkSense on higher trims, with no camera-based systems like LaneSense. But those BSM sensors in the rear bumper still need calibration after the parking scrapes and low-speed impacts that come with driving a large MPV in tight spaces.

What ADAS the Grand Voyager Has

The Grand Voyager (2011-2015, Limited trim) carries:

  • Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) – rear bumper-corner radar sensors detecting vehicles in adjacent lanes
  • ParkSense Rear Park Assist – ultrasonic sensors in the rear bumper detecting obstacles
  • ParkView Rear Back-Up Camera – reversing camera integrated into tailgate

No forward-facing camera, no ACC radar, no LaneSense, no AEB. The Grand Voyager's ADAS is limited to rear-focused systems. Lower trims may have ParkView camera only.

When Your Grand Voyager Needs Calibration

After Rear Bumper Repair

BSM sensors sit in the rear bumper corners. Family MPV use – school runs, supermarket car parks, holiday caravanning – generates frequent rear bumper contacts. If blind spot warnings fire incorrectly, miss vehicles, or show dashboard faults after bumper work, the sensors need recalibration.

After Wheelchair-Accessible Vehicle (WAV) Conversion

Grand Voyagers are popular as wheelchair-accessible vehicles. WAV conversions can alter rear body geometry, potentially affecting BSM sensor positions and ParkSense calibration. If ADAS warnings appeared after a conversion, sensor recalibration may be needed.

Parking Sensor Faults

ParkSense uses ultrasonic sensors in the rear bumper. If the sensors were displaced during bumper repair or replacement, they may give false proximity alerts or fail to detect obstacles.
