Ferrari 296 Speciale ADAS Calibration

The 296 Speciale is Ferrari's track-focused evolution of the 296 platform – more aggressive aerodynamics, revised bodywork, and the same AEB radar sitting behind a reshaped front bumper. That reshaped bumper means the radar calibration targets are specific to the Speciale's geometry. After any front-end repair on this model, the radar must be recalibrated to the Speciale's unique bumper profile, not the standard 296 GTB settings.

ADAS Systems on Your Ferrari 296 Speciale

The 296 Speciale shares the mid-engine V6 hybrid platform with the 296 GTB and 296 GTS, but with track-focused modifications:

  • Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) – standard. Front radar behind the redesigned front bumper.
  • Full ADAS Pack – availability follows the same optional structure as the 296 GTB, adding ACC, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Detection, and Surround View Camera.

The Speciale's revised front-end aerodynamics – larger air intakes, different splitter profile – change the physical environment around the front radar. The radar itself is the same Bosch unit as the standard 296, but its calibration must account for the Speciale-specific bumper geometry.

When Your 296 Speciale Needs Recalibration

After Track Day Damage or Splitter Repair

The Speciale sees track use where front splitter contact with kerbs, rumble strips, and circuit furniture is common. Any bodywork that involves removing or refitting the front bumper assembly displaces the AEB radar. Even if the damage appears cosmetic, the radar alignment is precision-critical.

After Collision Repair

Whether trackside or on the road, collision repair on the Speciale requires radar recalibration. Front impacts directly affect the AEB radar. Rear impacts on ADAS Pack-equipped cars can shift Blind Spot Detection sensors.

Windscreen Camera (ADAS Pack Cars)

If your Speciale has the Full ADAS Pack and the windscreen was replaced, the camera behind the glass requires recalibration for Lane Departure Warning and Traffic Sign Recognition.

Ferrari 296 Speciale ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Ferrari 296 Speciale

Same Bosch radar hardware, but the Speciale's revised front bumper geometry means the calibration targets are positioned differently. A calibration set up for a standard 296 GTB bumper profile won't produce accurate results on the Speciale. Our technicians confirm the specific chassis variant before calibrating.
