Ford C-MAX ADAS Calibration

Ford ended C-MAX production in 2019, but this compact MPV remains a common sight on UK roads – particularly among families who bought it for the practicality and kept it. The second-generation C-MAX (2010-2019) gained Pre-Collision Assist and Lane-Keeping as standard on later model years, and these camera-based systems need recalibrating whenever the windscreen is replaced. If your C-MAX shows ADAS warnings after glass or bodywork, calibration resolves it.

ADAS Systems on the Ford C-MAX

The C-MAX Mk2 (2010-2019) introduced Ford ADAS features progressively through its production run:

  • Pre-Collision Assist with AEB – forward-facing windscreen camera detects vehicles and pedestrians. Standard on 2015+ Titanium and Titanium X trims. Earlier or lower-spec C-MAX models may not have AEB.
  • Lane-Keeping Alert – windscreen camera monitors lane markings with steering vibration warnings. Alert-only on the C-MAX – no active steering correction.
  • Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) – reads speed limit signs through the windscreen camera. Available on later model years.
  • Active Park Assist – ultrasonic sensors for parallel and perpendicular parking. Available on higher trims from 2015 onwards.
  • Rear Parking Sensors – standard on most trims from mid-life facelift.
  • BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) – radar sensors in the rear bumper quarters. Available on Titanium X models.

The C-MAX predates Co-Pilot360. Its forward ADAS is camera-based, with the sensor behind the windscreen near the rearview mirror. Later models with BLIS also have rear-bumper radar modules. This places the C-MAX between the simpler B-MAX and the fully-equipped Focus Mk4 in ADAS complexity.

Why Your Ford C-MAX Might Need Calibration

After windscreen replacement

Pre-Collision Assist, Lane-Keeping Alert, and Traffic Sign Recognition all depend on the windscreen camera. A glass replacement without camera calibration leaves these systems inactive. This is the single most common trigger for C-MAX owners contacting us.

After front-end or bumper repair

While the C-MAX's forward ADAS is camera-only (no front radar), a front-end collision can jar the camera mounting bracket through the windscreen pillar. If ADAS warnings appear after collision repair – even if the windscreen wasn't touched – the camera alignment may have shifted.

After rear bumper work (BLIS-equipped models)

C-MAX models with Blind Spot Information System have radar modules in the rear bumper quarters. Rear bumper repair or replacement can shift these sensors, causing missed detections or false alerts in adjacent lanes. Sensor recalibration restores accurate monitoring.

Ford C-MAX Calibration Pricing

ServicePrice
Windscreen Calibration£199
Radar/Sensor Calibration£349
Collision Calibration£349
Full System Reset£499

Most C-MAX calibrations are windscreen camera work at £199. If your C-MAX has BLIS and both the windscreen and rear bumper were repaired, our £499 Full System Reset covers all sensors in one session.
