Genesis G90 ADAS Calibration

The G90 is Genesis's flagship – and carries the most advanced Smart Sense suite in the range, including a Driver Monitoring System with an infrared camera facing the driver. This cabin-facing sensor is a separate calibration point from the external ADAS cameras and radar, adding a layer of complexity that most workshops do not account for. After steering column work, dashboard repairs, or a front-end collision, the G90 may need both external and internal sensor calibration.

ADAS Systems on Your Genesis G90

The G90 (2022+) sits on the M3 platform with the fullest Genesis ADAS specification:

  • Highway Driving Assist II (HDA II) – Level 2+ with machine-learning cruise, lane centring, and assisted lane changes
  • Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control (NSCC) – map-based speed pre-adjustment for curves and limits
  • Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) – full AEB with pedestrian, cyclist, and junction detection
  • Lane Following Assist (LFA) – active lane centring
  • Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA) – active steering intervention during lane changes
  • Driver Monitoring System (DMS) – infrared camera on the steering column monitoring driver attention, required for HDA II hands-on-wheel compliance
  • Remote Smart Parking Assist (RSPA) – remote parking via ultrasonic sensors and surround cameras
  • Surround View Monitor (SVM) – four-camera bird's-eye parking view

The DMS infrared camera sits on the steering column facing the driver – separate from the external windscreen camera, front radar, and corner radars. Steering column or dashboard work can displace the DMS camera, disabling HDA II's driver attention monitoring.

When Your Genesis G90 Needs ADAS Calibration

After Front-End Collision

The G90's front bumper houses the main radar and sits near corner radars for HDA II. A collision affecting the front end can displace multiple sensors. If HDA II, Smart Cruise Control, and FCA all went offline simultaneously, multiple calibration points need attention.

After Windscreen Replacement

FCA, LFA, and NSCC rely on the windscreen camera. Every glass replacement requires recalibration. Our windscreen calibration at £199 ensures the camera alignment matches the G90's specific geometry.

DMS Camera Displacement

If your G90's HDA II stopped detecting driver attention – or the system warns that driver monitoring is unavailable – the infrared camera on the steering column may have shifted. Dashboard panel work, steering column repairs, or even heavy vibration can cause this. See all Genesis models

Genesis G90 ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Genesis G90

The DMS uses an infrared camera on the steering column to monitor driver attention and head position. It is required for HDA II compliance — if the DMS cannot detect the driver's focus, HDA II will issue warnings and eventually disengage. If this camera is misaligned, the system may falsely warn or fail to activate.
