Infiniti Q50 ADAS Calibration

The Q50 is the most ADAS-equipped Infiniti ever sold in the UK, and it carries a system no other Infiniti has – Direct Adaptive Steering. This steer-by-wire technology means the camera's lane detection and the steering system's response must be precisely aligned together. After any repair affecting the front end or windscreen, both the ADAS sensors and the steering calibration need verification.

ADAS Systems on Your Infiniti Q50

The Q50 (2013+) sits on the FM (Front Midship) rear-wheel-drive platform and carries the fullest Safety Shield specification:

  • Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC) – radar-based adaptive cruise, front radar behind the grille
  • Forward Emergency Braking (FEB) – standard AEB using front radar and windscreen camera
  • Active Lane Control (ALC) – actively steers within lane markings, unique to the Q50 among Infiniti models
  • Lane Departure Prevention (LDP) – corrective steering if you drift across lane markings
  • Blind Spot Intervention (BSI) – goes beyond passive monitoring by actively steering you back if you begin a lane change into an occupied blind spot
  • Around View Monitor (AVM) – four-camera bird's-eye parking view
  • Direct Adaptive Steering – optional steer-by-wire system that must align with camera-based lane detection

The front radar sits behind the grille emblem. The forward camera is at the top of the windscreen. BSI sensors are in the rear bumper corners. AVM uses cameras at front, rear, and both side mirrors.

Common Q50 ADAS Faults

Direct Adaptive Steering and Camera Alignment

The Q50's optional steer-by-wire system means Active Lane Control depends on precise agreement between what the camera sees and how the steering responds. After windscreen replacement or front-end work, both systems must be verified together – a step most garages miss because they treat camera calibration and steering alignment as separate jobs.

After Bumper or Front-End Collision

The front radar powering ICC and FEB sits behind the Q50's grille. A front-end repair shifts this sensor. With Infiniti no longer operating UK dealerships, owners often struggle to find a workshop willing to calibrate an orphaned brand. Because the Q50 uses Nissan-derived hardware, our equipment handles it identically.

Blind Spot Intervention Faults After Rear Bodywork

BSI actively steers the car – if the rear bumper sensors are miscalibrated after bodywork, the system could intervene at the wrong moment or fail entirely. This is not a passive warning system; accuracy matters. See all Infiniti models we calibrate

Infiniti Q50 ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Infiniti Q50

Yes. Active Lane Control and Lane Departure Prevention depend on alignment between the camera's lane detection and the steer-by-wire system's response. After windscreen replacement or front-end work, both must be verified together. We also calibrate the Q60 and QX70.
