Infiniti QX70 ADAS Calibration

Originally sold as the Infiniti FX, the QX70 is the oldest platform in the Infiniti UK fleet – and its ADAS is basic by modern standards. It carries Intelligent Cruise Control and Forward Collision Warning, but no automatic emergency braking. What it does have still needs calibration after front-end work, and with Infiniti out of the UK since 2020, finding a workshop that can handle the PM platform's Nissan-derived sensors is increasingly difficult.

ADAS Systems on Your Infiniti QX70

The QX70 (2013+, formerly FX) runs on the older PM (Premium Midsize) platform:

  • Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC) – radar-based adaptive cruise, front radar behind the grille
  • Forward Collision Warning (FCW) – alerts to imminent collisions via front radar, but does not brake automatically
  • Blind Spot Warning (BSW) – rear bumper sensors detect vehicles in adjacent lanes
  • Around View Monitor (AVM) – four-camera bird's-eye parking view
  • Lane Departure Warning (LDW) – basic lane departure alert

The QX70's ADAS is simpler than the newer Q50 – no Forward Emergency Braking, no lane-keeping intervention. But the front radar and camera still require professional calibration after any work that disturbs their positions.

When Your Infiniti QX70 Needs ADAS Calibration

After Front Bumper or Grille Repair

The QX70's large front grille houses the radar for ICC and FCW. The SUV's front-end takes more impact exposure than Infiniti's saloons – from parking bollards to minor front-end collisions. Any repair involving grille or bumper removal risks shifting the radar from its factory position.

After Windscreen Replacement

The QX70's windscreen camera supports Lane Departure Warning and enhances collision warning accuracy. Replacing the glass means recalibrating this camera. With no UK Infiniti dealerships, our windscreen calibration at £199 fills the gap.

SUV Usage Means More Frequent Triggers

The QX70's size and usage pattern mean more body shop visits – car park encounters, gravel road debris, and front-end contact are all more common than with a saloon. Each repair near the front radar or windscreen camera can trigger calibration needs. See all Infiniti models
