Jaguar XE ADAS Calibration

Your Jaguar XE's Adaptive Cruise Control has stopped engaging after a front bumper respray – the radar sensor behind the lower grille shifted during the bumper removal. The XE is Jaguar's compact executive saloon, built on the same JLR aluminium architecture as the XF, and carries a full Drive Assist suite from 2015 that shares calibration procedures with the rest of the Jaguar range. From £199 at 70+ UK workshops.

ADAS Systems on the Jaguar XE

The XE launched in 2015 as Jaguar's compact saloon and received ADAS upgrades through its production run:

XE (X760, 2015–2019 pre-facelift): Emergency Braking and Adaptive Cruise Control available on Prestige, Portfolio, and R-Sport trims. The front radar sits behind the lower grille – the same JLR sensor unit used across the Jaguar lineup. Lane Departure Warning via the windscreen camera was optional.

XE (X760, 2020+ facelift): Upgraded to Adaptive Cruise Control with Steering Assist, Lane Keep Assist (active steering), Blind Spot Assist, Rear Traffic Monitor, and Driver Condition Monitor as standard or widely available features. The ClearSight rear-view mirror became an option on higher specifications.

The XE's radar sits in the same lower-grille position as the F-Pace, but the saloon's lower ride height means the sensor is closer to road debris and minor impact zones. Bumper repairs on the XE are a more frequent calibration trigger than on the taller SUV models.

Why Your Jaguar XE Might Need Calibration

Bumper repair or respray: The XE's front bumper is removed for common bodywork – paintwork, stone chip repair, and minor collision damage. The radar sensor behind the lower grille can shift during bumper removal and refitting, even when the repair doesn't directly involve the sensor area. ACC and Emergency Braking both rely on this radar, so both deactivate simultaneously.

After windscreen replacement: Lane Keep Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Driver Condition Monitor use the windscreen-mounted camera. A windscreen replacement changes the camera position – static recalibration restores these systems to factory accuracy.

Rear bumper work affecting Blind Spot Assist: Facelift XE models (2020+) with Blind Spot Assist have sensors embedded in the rear bumper corners. Rear-end repairs or bumper replacement triggers recalibration needs for Blind Spot Assist and Rear Traffic Monitor.

Jaguar XE ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Jaguar XE

Very similar. Both use the JLR platform with the same radar and camera hardware. The XE's compact body puts the front radar slightly lower, which means different calibration target positioning, but the sensor technology and procedures are the same. See all Jaguar models we calibrate.
