ADAS Calibration for Mazda models

Your Mazda dashboard says "MRCC unavailable" or "Smart Brake Support malfunction" - and your local garage doesn't recognise the acronym. That's because Mazda uses system names no other manufacturer shares: MRCC, SBS, SCBS, LAS. They're all part of Mazda's i-Activsense safety suite, and they all need specialist calibration after repairs. ADAS Line calibrates every i-Activsense system at 70+ UK workshops, from £199.

Mazda ADAS Calibration Cost

Calibration costs depend on your specific Mazda model, which ADAS systems need recalibration, and whether mobile or workshop service is required.

Every Mazda model has different ADAS sensors fitted depending on trim level and year. Share your registration and we’ll confirm exactly which systems need calibration.

What Mazda ADAS Calibration Involves

The three most common calibration scenarios for Mazda vehicles — each linked to a dedicated service page.

£199 Starting price

Windscreen Camera Recalibration

Every Mazda with a forward-facing camera — including models with Lane Departure Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Autonomous Emergency Braking — requires camera recalibration after windscreen replacement. This is the most common Mazda ADAS job we carry out.

Radar & Sensor Alignment

Mazda models fitted with Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Detection, or Rear Cross Traffic Alert carry radar modules behind the bumper or grille. Any bodywork repair or bumper removal requires sensor recalibration using manufacturer-specific targets and procedures.

Post-Collision Full Check

After any collision repair involving a Mazda, multiple ADAS sensors may be disturbed simultaneously — including cameras, radar modules, and parking sensors. A comprehensive post-collision calibration restores every system to factory tolerances and satisfies insurer documentation requirements.

Mazda i-Activsense Systems We Calibrate

Mazda brands its ADAS technology as i-Activsense - with system names that are unique to Mazda and appear directly on dashboard warnings:

  • Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) - Adaptive cruise control using the front radar sensor behind the Mazda emblem. "MRCC unavailable" is the most common Mazda ADAS warning after bumper repairs.
  • Smart Brake Support (SBS) - High-speed automatic emergency braking using front radar. Activates above 30 km/h. Needs recalibration after any frontal repair.
  • Smart City Brake Support (SCBS) - Low-speed automatic braking using a near-infrared sensor. Mazda is one of few manufacturers that splits AEB into two separate systems - both need to work correctly.
  • Lane-keep Assist System (LAS) - Camera-based lane tracking through the windscreen-mounted camera. Requires recalibration after windscreen replacement.
  • Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) - Camera-based alerts when the vehicle drifts. Works alongside LAS using the same windscreen camera.
  • Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) - Rear radar sensors in the bumper corners. Needs recalibration after rear-end repairs.
  • Driver Attention Alert (DAA) - Monitors driving patterns for signs of fatigue. Camera-dependent.
  • Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) - Reads speed limits and road signs through the windscreen camera.

When Your Mazda Needs i-Activsense Recalibration

After bumper repair or replacement: Mazda's radar sensor sits behind the front emblem - the same position as many manufacturers, but calibrated to Mazda-specific parameters. Bumper work, front-end collision, or even emblem replacement can shift this sensor. You'll see "MRCC unavailable" and "SBS malfunction" warnings.

After windscreen replacement: The forward camera handles LAS, LDWS, TSR, and DAA. A new windscreen means recalibration is mandatory for all four systems. This is our £199 Windscreen Calibration service.

When your garage doesn't recognise the system: MRCC, SBS, and SCBS are Mazda-only abbreviations. Many independent garages don't have the diagnostic equipment to interpret these codes, let alone recalibrate the sensors. Our IMI-certified technicians use OEM-grade tools that speak Mazda's language.

"Mazda owners often contact us after their local garage can't identify the ADAS fault - the unique system names mean most general mechanics don't have the right diagnostic protocol. A CX-5 with 'SBS malfunction' after a bumper repair is a standard radar recalibration for us."

Mazda Models - Full ADAS Calibration Coverage

The CX-5 is the UK's best-selling Mazda and our most commonly calibrated model - the full i-Activsense suite has been standard since 2017. The CX-30 and Mazda3 (2019+) carry equally comprehensive systems. The newer CX-60 adds the latest i-Activsense technology.
