Mercedes EQV ADAS Calibration

The Mercedes EQV is the electric version of the V-Class – a full-size MPV carrying up to eight passengers with the same ADAS suite as its diesel counterpart. When you're transporting families, VIP clients, or operating a shuttle service, every safety system must work. If DISTRONIC or Active Brake Assist has disabled after a front-end repair or windscreen replacement, the sensors behind the star badge and windscreen need professional recalibration.

ADAS Systems on the Mercedes EQV

The EQV (W447 electric, 2020+) shares its platform and ADAS hardware with the combustion V-Class:

  • DISTRONIC – adaptive cruise control using the front radar behind the star badge. Particularly useful on the EQV for motorway range management, maintaining consistent speeds to optimise battery efficiency.
  • Active Brake Assist – automatic emergency braking via front radar and multifunction camera. Critical on a vehicle this size, where stopping distances are longer.
  • Active Lane Keeping Assist – camera-based lane detection with steering correction.
  • Blind Spot Assist – rear-mounted radar sensors. Essential on the EQV given its length and limited rear visibility.
  • Traffic Sign Assist – speed limit recognition via the multifunction camera.
  • Active Parking Assist (PARKTRONIC) – ultrasonic sensors for parking guidance. The EQV's size makes this system especially valuable.
  • ATTENTION ASSIST – drowsiness detection for long-distance driving.

The EQV's large flat windscreen houses the multifunction camera at a less raked angle than Mercedes saloons. The front radar sits behind the star badge – same position as the V-Class, Vito, and Sprinter.

Why Your Mercedes EQV Might Need ADAS Calibration

After Windscreen Replacement

The EQV's upright, bus-style windscreen makes it more exposed to stone chips and road debris than lower-profile Mercedes models. Windscreen replacement is common – and each time, the multifunction camera handling Active Lane Keeping Assist, Traffic Sign Assist, and high beams needs recalibrating.

After Front-End Collision or Bumper Repair

The EQV's flat front end takes impacts directly. Even low-speed car park collisions can shift the radar behind the star badge. If DISTRONIC shows as unavailable after bodywork, radar calibration is required. The EQV's height means the radar sits higher than on saloons – level with other vehicles' bumpers in car parks.

Commercial and Fleet Use

EQVs used as shuttle vehicles, VIP transport, or hotel transfers accumulate mileage and minor damage faster than private vehicles. Maintaining ADAS calibration is not optional on a vehicle carrying paying passengers.

Mercedes EQV ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Mercedes EQV

Yes. The EQV and V-Class share identical ADAS hardware — same radar position behind the star badge, same multifunction camera behind the windscreen. The electric drivetrain has no impact on sensor calibration. Procedures and pricing are the same for both.
