ADAS Calibration for Mini models

Your MINI runs BMW sensor hardware. The forward camera, front radar, and ultrasonic sensors in every ADAS-equipped MINI are BMW-sourced components - and we calibrate BMWs every day. Whether it's Driving Assistant faults on a Hatch or Active Cruise Control warnings on a Countryman, our technicians already know the system inside out. ADAS calibration for your MINI, from £199, at 70+ UK workshops.

Mini ADAS Calibration Cost

Calibration costs depend on your specific Mini model, which ADAS systems need recalibration, and whether mobile or workshop service is required.

Every Mini model has different ADAS sensors fitted depending on trim level and year. Share your registration and we’ll confirm exactly which systems need calibration.

What Mini ADAS Calibration Involves

The three most common calibration scenarios for Mini vehicles — each linked to a dedicated service page.

£199 Starting price

Windscreen Camera Recalibration

Every Mini with a forward-facing camera — including models with Lane Departure Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Autonomous Emergency Braking — requires camera recalibration after windscreen replacement. This is the most common Mini ADAS job we carry out.

Radar & Sensor Alignment

Mini models fitted with Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Detection, or Rear Cross Traffic Alert carry radar modules behind the bumper or grille. Any bodywork repair or bumper removal requires sensor recalibration using manufacturer-specific targets and procedures.

Post-Collision Full Check

After any collision repair involving a Mini, multiple ADAS sensors may be disturbed simultaneously — including cameras, radar modules, and parking sensors. A comprehensive post-collision calibration restores every system to factory tolerances and satisfies insurer documentation requirements.

MINI ADAS Systems We Calibrate

MINI packages its safety technology into tiered bundles - the level of ADAS depends on which package was specified, not just the model:

  • Driving Assistant (standard) - The base ADAS package including Front Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, and Lane Departure Warning. Uses a forward-facing camera behind the windscreen and a front radar behind the grille.
  • Driving Assistant Plus (mid-tier) - Adds Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go, multi-vehicle traffic anticipation, and improved steering support. Same sensor hardware as Driving Assistant, with more advanced software processing.
  • Driving Assistant Professional (premium) - Currently available on the Countryman U25 and expanding across the Cooper range from 2025. Adds Highway Assistant with hands-free driving up to 130 km/h, automatic lane changes, and 3D surroundings visualisation. Uses additional side radar sensors.
  • Parking Assistant / Parking Assistant Plus - Ultrasonic sensors for automated parking. Plus version adds four surround-view cameras and remote parking via the MINI App.
  • Speed Limit Information - Camera-based traffic sign recognition displaying current speed limits on the instrument cluster.

MINI calls its emergency braking system "Driving Assistant" - you might know it as the feature that brakes for you when it detects an imminent collision. Because MINI uses identical BMW sensor hardware, the calibration procedures match what we perform on BMW vehicles daily using the same ISTA diagnostic tools.

When Your MINI Needs ADAS Recalibration

After Windscreen Replacement

MINI's forward-facing camera is bonded to the windscreen and controls Lane Departure Warning, Front Collision Warning, and Speed Limit Information. When the glass is replaced, this camera must be recalibrated - it's our most common MINI request. Many windscreen fitters can't complete this step. Our windscreen calibration service covers it at £199.

After a Front-End Collision or Bumper Repair

The front radar sits behind the MINI's grille. Even a minor bump or bumper removal during bodywork shifts this sensor enough to trigger "Active Cruise Control unavailable" or "Front Collision Warning deactivated" on your dashboard. Radar calibration restores the system.

FAAR Platform - More Sensors, More Calibration

If you drive a 2024+ MINI - the new Cooper, Countryman U25, or Aceman - your car sits on BMW's FAAR platform with up to 12 ultrasonic sensors, four surround-view cameras, and side radar. A simple bumper repair on these models can affect multiple sensor systems simultaneously, making professional collision calibration essential rather than optional.

Warning Lights Without Recent Repairs

A MINI showing Driving Assistant warnings with no obvious cause may have experienced gradual sensor drift from road vibration, a minor parking knock, or temperature cycling. A diagnostic scan identifies which sensor needs attention - and whether it's a calibration issue or a hardware fault.

MINI Models - Full ADAS Calibration Coverage

The MINI Hatch is the most common MINI on UK roads - both the F56 three-door and J01 electric carry Driving Assistant with full camera and radar systems. The Countryman is MINI's most ADAS-advanced model - the U25 generation is the first MINI with Highway Assistant, side radar, and hands-free driving capability. The Clubman (now discontinued) remains common on UK roads with Driving Assistant and ACC.

We calibrate ADAS systems on 7 MINI models, covering both the UKL platform (F-series, 2014-2023) and the current FAAR platform (2024+).

Mini ADAS Calibration — Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about ADAS calibration for your Mini

Yes. MINI is part of BMW Group and uses identical sensor hardware – the same forward camera, front radar, and ultrasonic sensors found in the BMW 1 Series, X1, and 2 Series Active Tourer. The calibration procedures and diagnostic tools (ISTA) are the same, which is why our [BMW calibration](/bmw) experience translates directly to every MINI model.
