Nissan e-NV200 ADAS Calibration

The Nissan e-NV200 is the electric version of Nissan's compact van – popular with urban delivery fleets and small businesses running zero-emission vehicles in city centres. While the e-NV200 carries a simpler ADAS package than the Qashqai or X-Trail, its Intelligent Emergency Braking and optional Around View Monitor still require professional calibration after bodywork, collision repair, or camera disturbance.

ADAS Systems on the Nissan e-NV200

The e-NV200 (2014–2022) received incremental ADAS additions through its production life:

e-NV200 Evalia / Combi (2018+, 40 kWh battery): Intelligent Emergency Braking (IEB) standard – using a forward-facing camera behind the windscreen to detect vehicles and pedestrians at urban speeds. No radar on this model. Lane Departure Warning available on higher trims.

Around View Monitor (AVM): Optional on Evalia passenger versions. Uses four cameras – front, rear, and both door mirrors – to create a bird's-eye parking view. This is particularly valuable for van users navigating tight loading bays and delivery zones.

Key e-NV200 detail: Unlike the Nissan Leaf or Juke, the e-NV200 does not have front radar behind the Nissan badge. IEB is camera-only. This means windscreen replacement is the primary calibration trigger – not bumper repairs. However, the AVM cameras on door mirrors and front/rear panels are vulnerable to the knocks and scrapes that delivery vehicles accumulate daily.

When Your e-NV200 Needs Calibration

After windscreen replacement: The e-NV200's IEB relies entirely on the windscreen-mounted camera. After glass replacement, this camera must be recalibrated using static targets in a controlled environment. Many windscreen companies can replace the glass but can't calibrate the Nissan-specific camera – the same issue Nissan owners face across the range.

AVM camera damage from commercial use: Delivery vans take hits. Door mirrors get clipped, front bumpers catch loading bay edges, and rear panels accumulate dents from reversing into tight spaces. Each AVM camera needs to be correctly positioned and calibrated for the bird's-eye view to display accurately. If one camera shows a distorted or misaligned image, that individual camera needs recalibration.

After panel or mirror replacement: If a door mirror was replaced (carrying an AVM camera) or a front/rear panel was repaired, the replacement camera won't automatically align with the AVM system. Professional calibration ensures all four camera feeds stitch together correctly.

Nissan e-NV200 ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Nissan e-NV200

No. The e-NV200 uses a camera-only system for Intelligent Emergency Braking — there's no radar behind the Nissan badge. This means bumper repairs don't trigger radar faults, but windscreen replacement absolutely requires camera recalibration. The Qashqai and Juke have both radar and camera.
