Toyota Aygo X ADAS Calibration

The Aygo X replaced the original Aygo in 2022, and brought Toyota Safety Sense into the city car segment for the first time. Unlike its predecessor – which used shared Peugeot/Citroen ADAS hardware – the Aygo X is built on Toyota's GA-B platform and carries genuine TSS with Pre-Collision System, Lane Departure Alert, and Automatic High Beam. If any of these systems have gone offline after a repair, our IMI-certified technicians recalibrate them at 70+ UK workshops.

ADAS Systems on Your Toyota Aygo X

The Aygo X (2022+) is the first Toyota city car to carry Toyota Safety Sense as standard across all trims:

  • Pre-Collision System (PCS) – automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection. Uses the windscreen-mounted camera.
  • Lane Departure Alert (LDA) – warns and provides gentle steering correction when drifting from lane markings. Camera-based.
  • Automatic High Beam (AHB) – switches between high and low beam based on oncoming traffic detection. Camera-dependent.
  • Road Sign Assist (RSA) – reads speed limit signs via the windscreen camera.

The Aygo X does not have a front radar module – it relies entirely on the windscreen-mounted camera for its ADAS functionality. This is the key technical difference from larger Toyotas like the C-HR or RAV4, which add Dynamic Radar Cruise Control via a separate front radar unit.

The camera sits behind the rearview mirror on the windscreen. Every ADAS function on the Aygo X depends on this single sensor.

Why Your Aygo X Might Need ADAS Calibration

Windscreen Replacement – The Primary Trigger

Because the Aygo X routes all ADAS through one windscreen camera, a windscreen replacement is the most impactful repair for this model. A single glass swap disables Pre-Collision System, Lane Departure Alert, Automatic High Beam, and Road Sign Assist simultaneously. The replacement windscreen needs the camera precisely repositioned and calibrated using our windscreen calibration service.

After Front-End Collision

Even without a separate radar module, front-end impacts can affect the windscreen camera's mounting bracket or internal alignment. If your Aygo X was involved in a collision and PCS warnings have appeared, the camera assembly needs checking and recalibration.

Urban Driving Risks

City cars spend their lives in tight urban environments – exactly where minor bumps, car park scrapes, and stone chip windscreen replacements happen most. The Aygo X's popularity as a city runabout means these calibration triggers are frequent for this model.

Toyota Aygo X ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Toyota Aygo X

The original Aygo used a shared Peugeot/Citroen platform with non-Toyota ADAS hardware. The Aygo X is built on Toyota's own GA-B platform and carries genuine Toyota Safety Sense — the same ADAS brand used across the Yaris and Yaris Cross. Calibration uses Toyota-specific equipment and protocols.
