Vauxhall Astra ADAS Calibration

You've had your Vauxhall Astra's bumper repaired after a collision, and now the Adaptive Cruise Control has stopped responding. The radar sensor behind the front Vauxhall badge was disturbed during the repair – and it needs recalibration before ACC and Automatic Emergency Braking will work again.

ADAS Systems on the Vauxhall Astra

The Astra's ADAS spec depends heavily on generation:

2022+ Astra (Stellantis EMP2 platform):

  • Highway Integration Assist – Vauxhall's semi-autonomous driving feature combining ACC, LKA, and automatic lane centering. This is the most advanced ADAS system on any current Vauxhall.
  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) – radar-based, stop-and-go capable in traffic.
  • Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) – camera and radar fusion for vehicle and pedestrian detection.
  • Lane Keep Assist (LKA) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW) – camera-dependent.
  • IntelliLux LED Matrix headlights – uses camera data for adaptive beam patterns.
  • Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) and Driver Drowsiness Alert.

2015-2021 Astra K (GM platform):

  • Basic AEB and LDW on higher trims. Camera-only system behind the windscreen, no radar on most models. Fewer systems to calibrate, but the camera still needs recalibration after windscreen work.

The 2022+ Astra has both a windscreen-mounted camera AND a front radar behind the bumper badge – meaning both bumper repairs and windscreen replacements trigger calibration needs.

Common Astra ADAS Issues

After front-end collision repair

The 2022+ Astra's Highway Integration Assist relies on both camera and radar working in sync. If your Astra was in a collision and the body shop repaired the front end, the radar behind the emblem and the camera behind the windscreen may both need recalibration. When only one sensor is recalibrated, the system can throw intermittent warnings because the two inputs disagree.

After windscreen replacement

Every Astra with LKA or AEB has a forward camera behind the windscreen. If your windscreen company replaced the glass but Lane Keep Assist warnings persist, the camera needs recalibrating. The newer Astra's IntelliLux headlights share this camera data, so you may also see headlight-related warnings until calibration is complete.

Astra K vs. Astra L

The older Astra K (GM platform) and newer Astra L (Stellantis platform) use entirely different sensor hardware. Our technicians are trained on both – just confirm your year and trim when booking. We also calibrate the Corsa, Mokka, and Grandland on the same Stellantis platforms.

Vauxhall Astra ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Vauxhall Astra

Yes — the 2022+ Astra L introduced Highway Integration Assist, combining Adaptive Cruise Control with automatic lane centering. It's the most ADAS-intensive Vauxhall currently on sale. If any component sensor is disturbed, the entire Highway Integration Assist system needs recalibration.
