Vauxhall Frontera ADAS Calibration

Vauxhall revived the Frontera name in 2024 as a compact SUV on the Stellantis eCMP2/STLA Small platform – sharing nothing with the original 1990s Frontera except the badge. This new model arrives with a full IntelliDrive ADAS suite, and every system needs precise calibration after collision repairs or windscreen replacement.

ADAS Systems on the 2024+ Vauxhall Frontera

The new Frontera sits on Stellantis' latest eCMP2/STLA Small platform, shared with the Peugeot e-2008 and Citroen C3 Aircross (2024). It arrives with the most current generation of Vauxhall IntelliDrive:

  • Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) – camera and radar fusion for vehicle, pedestrian, and cyclist detection. Standard on all trims.
  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) – stop-and-go radar cruise, sensor behind the front Vauxhall badge.
  • Lane Keep Assist (LKA) – corrective steering via the windscreen camera.
  • Lane Departure Warning (LDW) – audible lane drift alert.
  • Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) – camera reads speed limit signs.
  • Driver Drowsiness Alert – steering pattern analysis on longer journeys.
  • Rear parking sensors and camera – standard across the range.

The Frontera uses a forward camera behind the windscreen and a front radar behind the badge – the same dual-sensor arrangement as the Mokka and Corsa on Stellantis CMP. Being on the newer eCMP2/STLA architecture, the Frontera's software and sensor calibration targets may differ from older CMP models, but the physical sensor positions remain consistent.

Frontera ADAS – Common Calibration Scenarios

After bumper repair or replacement

The Frontera's ACC radar sits behind the front badge. Any bumper work – whether from a car park knock or a collision – can shift the radar alignment. ACC and AEB warnings will appear on the dashboard until the radar is recalibrated. Body shops complete the cosmetic repair; we complete the calibration.

After windscreen replacement

LKA, LDW, AEB, and TSR all depend on the forward camera. A new windscreen means a new camera position – even a fraction of a degree matters. If your windscreen company didn't calibrate the camera after fitting, expect persistent warnings across multiple systems. Our windscreen calibration resolves all camera-dependent faults.

New car, first repair

As a 2024 launch, the Frontera is reaching its first wave of insurance repairs and windscreen claims. Independent garages and body shops encountering the Frontera for the first time may not have the ADAS calibration tools for this newest Stellantis platform. We already support the Frontera at our UK workshop network.

Vauxhall Frontera ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Vauxhall Frontera

No. The 2024 Frontera shares nothing with the original — different platform (Stellantis eCMP2/STLA Small vs. GM body-on-frame), different engineering, completely different ADAS systems. The name was revived for a modern compact SUV.
