Vauxhall Grandland X ADAS Calibration

Sold between 2017 and 2021, the Grandland X was Vauxhall's first mid-size SUV on the PSA EMP2 platform – the same architecture now underpinning the renamed Grandland. If your Grandland X has ACC or AEB warnings after a bumper repair, the radar behind the front badge or the windscreen camera needs professional recalibration.

ADAS Systems on the Vauxhall Grandland X

The Grandland X arrived in 2017 as one of the first Vauxhalls to transition from GM to PSA (now Stellantis) engineering. It shares its EMP2 platform with the Peugeot 3008 and Citroen C5 Aircross:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) – radar-based stop-and-go cruise control. Sensor behind the front Vauxhall badge. Available from mid-trim.
  • Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) / Forward Collision Alert – camera and radar fusion on ACC-equipped models, camera-only on base trims.
  • Lane Keep Assist (LKA) – corrective steering using the windscreen-mounted camera.
  • Lane Departure Warning (LDW) – audible lane drift alert.
  • Side Blind Spot Alert – rear bumper-mounted radar sensors on higher trims.
  • Advanced Park Assist – ultrasonic parking sensors with semi-automated steering.
  • Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) – camera-based speed limit reading.

The Grandland X does not have Highway Integration Assist – that feature arrived with the 2022+ Grandland refresh. However, the Grandland X still carries a comprehensive sensor array: camera behind the windscreen, radar behind the front badge, and blind spot radar in the rear bumper corners on higher trims.

Common Grandland X ADAS Triggers

Bumper repair with ACC disruption

The Grandland X's ACC radar sits directly behind the front badge. Bumper replacements, front-end collision repairs, or even a new grille can shift the sensor alignment. If ACC stopped working after body shop work, the radar needs recalibrating – not just a code reset.

Windscreen replacement

LKA, LDW, AEB, and TSR all route through the single forward camera. Windscreen fitters replace the glass but typically cannot recalibrate the ADAS camera. Our windscreen calibration at £199 restores all camera-dependent systems.

Rear blind spot faults after rear-end impact

Grandland X models with Side Blind Spot Alert have radar sensors embedded in the rear bumper. A rear-end shunt or bumper replacement can knock these sensors out of alignment – triggering blind spot warnings on the dashboard. These need separate radar calibration from the front systems.

Vauxhall Grandland X ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Vauxhall Grandland X

The Grandland X (2017-2021) and Grandland (2022+) share the EMP2 platform but differ in ADAS capability. The newer Grandland adds Highway Integration Assist and IntelliLux LED Matrix headlights. The core sensors — front radar, windscreen camera, blind spot radar — are calibrated the same way on both.
