ADAS Calibration for Volvo models

Volvo invented automatic emergency braking - they called it City Safety, and it became the benchmark every other manufacturer follows. If your Volvo's IntelliSafe systems aren't working correctly after a repair, you need a calibration specialist who understands these systems at the level Volvo engineered them. ADAS Line calibrates all Volvo ADAS systems at 70+ UK workshops, from £199, using OEM-grade equipment.

Volvo ADAS Calibration Cost

Calibration costs depend on your specific Volvo model, which ADAS systems need recalibration, and whether mobile or workshop service is required.

Every Volvo model has different ADAS sensors fitted depending on trim level and year. Share your registration and we’ll confirm exactly which systems need calibration.

What Volvo ADAS Calibration Involves

The three most common calibration scenarios for Volvo vehicles — each linked to a dedicated service page.

£199 Starting price

Windscreen Camera Recalibration

Every Volvo with a forward-facing camera — including models with Lane Departure Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Autonomous Emergency Braking — requires camera recalibration after windscreen replacement. This is the most common Volvo ADAS job we carry out.

Radar & Sensor Alignment

Volvo models fitted with Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Detection, or Rear Cross Traffic Alert carry radar modules behind the bumper or grille. Any bodywork repair or bumper removal requires sensor recalibration using manufacturer-specific targets and procedures.

Post-Collision Full Check

After any collision repair involving a Volvo, multiple ADAS sensors may be disturbed simultaneously — including cameras, radar modules, and parking sensors. A comprehensive post-collision calibration restores every system to factory tolerances and satisfies insurer documentation requirements.

Volvo IntelliSafe Systems We Calibrate

Volvo groups its ADAS technology under the IntelliSafe brand - one of the most comprehensive safety suites on the road:

  • City Safety - Volvo's automatic emergency braking system. The world's first production AEB, it uses both radar and camera to detect vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists, and large animals. Needs recalibration after any frontal repair.
  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) - Radar-based speed and distance management. The sensor sits behind the front bumper grille.
  • Pilot Assist - Volvo's Level 2 semi-autonomous driving system combining ACC with Lane Keeping Aid. Both radar and camera must be calibrated for Pilot Assist to function.
  • Lane Keeping Aid (LKA) - Camera-based lane tracking through the windscreen-mounted camera. Requires recalibration after windscreen replacement.
  • Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Steer Assist - Rear radar sensors monitoring blind spots and actively steering you away from vehicles in the adjacent lane.
  • Cross Traffic Alert (CTA) with Auto Brake - Rear sensors that detect approaching traffic when reversing, with automatic braking. Triggered after rear bumper work.
  • Run-off Road Mitigation - A Volvo-unique system that steers the vehicle back onto the road if it detects an unintended departure. Camera-dependent.

Volvo Models - Full ADAS Calibration Coverage

The XC40 is the UK's most popular Volvo and our most commonly calibrated model - its compact size means more urban bumps that trigger calibration needs. The XC60 and XC90 carry the most comprehensive IntelliSafe suites, with every sensor type Volvo offers. The newer EX30 and EX90 electric models add the latest ADAS technology, including potential LiDAR.
