Citroën Berlingo ADAS Calibration

The Berlingo sees more bumper damage than any other Citroën in the range – commercial use, tight car parks, and urban deliveries take a toll. When the front bumper is repaired, the radar sensor behind it shifts, and Active Safety Brake stops functioning. If your Berlingo's dashboard is showing ADAS warnings after bodywork, the radar needs professional recalibration.

ADAS Systems on Your Citroën Berlingo

The third-generation Berlingo (2018+) sits on Stellantis's EMP2 platform – the same architecture used by the C5 Aircross and SpaceTourer. Its ADAS specification is practical rather than comprehensive:

  • Active Safety Brake – automatic emergency braking using the forward-facing camera mounted behind the rear-view mirror
  • Speed Limit Recognition – reads road signs via the windscreen camera
  • Coffee Break Alert – monitors steering patterns and alerts you when fatigue is detected
  • Rear Parking Sensors – ultrasonic sensors in the rear bumper

The front radar is integrated into the front bumper, powering the collision warning element of Active Safety Brake. The windscreen camera handles sign recognition and driver monitoring. Both sensors need recalibration independently – bumper work affects the radar, windscreen replacement affects the camera.

Why Your Citroën Berlingo Might Need ADAS Calibration

Bumper Repair – The Most Common Berlingo Trigger

Commercial Berlingos accumulate front-end damage faster than passenger cars. Loading bay knocks, car park barriers, and low-speed collisions often require bumper removal or replacement. Every time the front bumper comes off, the radar sensor behind it loses its factory alignment. If Active Safety Brake warnings appeared after a body shop visit, radar calibration restores the system.

After Windscreen Replacement

The forward-facing camera behind the rear-view mirror handles Speed Limit Recognition and contributes to Active Safety Brake. A windscreen swap displaces this camera – your windscreen fitter may not have the equipment to recalibrate it. Our Windscreen Calibration at £199 covers it.

Fleet and Commercial Use

Body shops repairing fleet Berlingos often complete the panel work but miss the ADAS recalibration step. If you manage a fleet of Berlingos and drivers are reporting Active Safety Brake faults after repairs, the sensors need recalibrating – it's a step that's separate from the bodywork itself.

Citroën Berlingo ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Citroën Berlingo

Yes — the Berlingo and Peugeot Rifter share the same EMP2 platform with identical sensor hardware and calibration procedures. If your body shop has had a Rifter calibrated successfully, your Berlingo uses the same process. See all Citroën models we calibrate
