Fiat Panda ADAS Calibration

The Fiat Panda is as basic as modern cars get – but from the 2016 facelift, even this budget city car carries City Brake Control. The laser sensor in the lower windscreen area activates below 30 km/h to prevent low-speed collisions, and it needs recalibration every time the windscreen is replaced. Most owners – and many garages – don't realise the Panda has an active safety system at all.

ADAS Systems on Your Fiat Panda

The Panda (third generation, 2012+) has minimal ADAS:

2012–2015 models:

  • No ADAS systems. No calibration required.

2016+ facelift models:

  • City Brake Control (CBC) – Laser-based low-speed automatic emergency braking. Sensor mounted in the lower windscreen area. Activates below 30 km/h.

That's it. The Panda doesn't carry ACC, lane keeping, blind spot monitoring, or any camera-based system. CBC is the only ADAS feature, and it uses a laser – not a camera – making the Panda's calibration different from most modern vehicles.

The same CBC technology is fitted to the Fiat 500 (2016+) and 500L (2017+).

When Your Fiat Panda Needs Calibration

After Windscreen Replacement

The CBC laser sensor is bonded to the windscreen glass. New glass means the sensor has shifted from its calibrated position. Without recalibration, City Brake Control may not activate when needed – exactly the low-speed urban situations the Panda is designed for.

CBC Warning on the Dashboard

If the City Brake Control warning light appears after a minor front-end bump, the laser sensor alignment has shifted. This can happen from impacts too minor to cause visible windscreen damage – the sensor is more sensitive than the glass.

Fiat Panda CBC recalibration after windscreen replacement is our £199 fixed rate. The Panda only has one ADAS sensor, so the calibration is straightforward – laser realignment and a diagnostic scan confirming CBC is active. See all Fiat models we calibrate

Fiat Panda ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Fiat Panda

If your Panda is a 2016 facelift or newer, it has City Brake Control — Fiat's laser-based emergency braking system. It's minimal compared to the 500e or 600e, but it's still an active safety system that needs calibration after windscreen work.
