ADAS Calibration for Honda models

Error code P2583-76 on your Honda - "Misalignment Millimeter Wave Radar." Your Honda SENSING system needs professional recalibration. Honda uses a millimeter wave radar behind the front grille and a camera behind the windscreen to power its safety suite. When either is disturbed, your Collision Mitigation, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Lane Keeping all stop working.

Honda ADAS Calibration Cost

Calibration costs depend on your specific Honda model, which ADAS systems need recalibration, and whether mobile or workshop service is required.

Every Honda model has different ADAS sensors fitted depending on trim level and year. Share your registration and we’ll confirm exactly which systems need calibration.

What Honda ADAS Calibration Involves

The three most common calibration scenarios for Honda vehicles — each linked to a dedicated service page.

£199 Starting price

Windscreen Camera Recalibration

Every Honda with a forward-facing camera — including models with Lane Departure Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Autonomous Emergency Braking — requires camera recalibration after windscreen replacement. This is the most common Honda ADAS job we carry out.

Radar & Sensor Alignment

Honda models fitted with Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Detection, or Rear Cross Traffic Alert carry radar modules behind the bumper or grille. Any bodywork repair or bumper removal requires sensor recalibration using manufacturer-specific targets and procedures.

Post-Collision Full Check

After any collision repair involving a Honda, multiple ADAS sensors may be disturbed simultaneously — including cameras, radar modules, and parking sensors. A comprehensive post-collision calibration restores every system to factory tolerances and satisfies insurer documentation requirements.

Honda ADAS Systems We Calibrate

Honda brands its ADAS package as "Honda SENSING" - a term you'll see throughout your owner's manual and on Honda's marketing. Here's what it includes:

  • Honda SENSING - The overall package name covering all driver assistance systems. If your dashboard references Honda SENSING, it means one or more of these systems has a fault.
  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) - Uses the millimeter wave radar to maintain speed and distance from the vehicle ahead.
  • Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) - Honda's automatic emergency braking. Detects imminent collisions and applies braking force automatically.
  • Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) - Camera-based lane keeping that provides steering input to keep you centred in your lane.
  • Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) - Detects lane markings and applies steering and braking correction if the vehicle is leaving the road.
  • LaneWatch / Blind Spot Information (BSI) - Older Hondas use LaneWatch (a camera on the passenger mirror); newer models use BSI with radar-based blind spot monitoring.
  • Traffic Sign Recognition - Camera-based speed limit and road sign display.

VSA and ADAS - the confusion: Honda's Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) warning light frequently leads owners to search for ADAS calibration. VSA is technically Electronic Stability Control, not ADAS. However, when Honda SENSING detects a radar or camera fault, the VSA light often illuminates alongside other warnings. If your Honda's VSA light is on with ACC or CMBS warnings, the root cause is usually the ADAS sensor - not the stability system itself.

What Triggers Honda ADAS Faults

Millimeter Wave Radar Misalignment

Honda's radar behind the front grille is described in diagnostic systems as the "millimeter wave radar." When it's physically displaced - by bumper repair, collision, or even a hard impact to the front - you'll see DTC codes like P2583-76 and persistent driver support system warnings. This requires professional radar calibration.

Multiple Systems Needing Simultaneous Calibration

Honda owners sometimes arrive with both radar and camera calibration incomplete - the radar aiming and the static camera aiming both flagged as unfinished.

After Windscreen Replacement

Honda's LKAS and RDM systems rely on the windscreen-mounted camera. Windscreen replacement requires camera recalibration. Many windscreen companies can handle basic recalibration on Hondas, but complex multi-system faults often need specialist attention.

VSA Warning Light Without Obvious Cause

The VSA system warning appears on many Hondas alongside Honda SENSING faults. If your VSA light is on and your Honda's cruise control or collision mitigation has stopped working, the underlying issue is typically radar or camera misalignment rather than a stability control fault.

Honda Models - Full ADAS Calibration Coverage

The Honda Civic is our most-requested Honda model, with six times more calibration requests than any other Honda. The CR-V carries the full Honda SENSING suite, and the Jazz - despite its smaller size - includes the same radar and camera systems on newer models.

We calibrate Honda SENSING systems on every Honda model in the UK.

Honda ADAS Calibration — Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about ADAS calibration for your Honda

The VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist) warning on Hondas often illuminates alongside Honda SENSING faults. VSA is technically Electronic Stability Control, not ADAS. But when the Honda SENSING radar or camera detects a fault, the VSA light frequently comes on as a secondary warning. If your VSA light is paired with ACC or CMBS warnings, the root cause is usually an ADAS sensor issue that recalibration resolves.
