ADAS Calibration for Lotus models

No other brand in the UK market has pop-up lidar sensors that deploy from the bodywork, retract for aerodynamics, and need specialist calibration when disturbed. The Lotus Eletre and Emeya carry Lotus Intelligent Driving - a Level 2+ system powered by dual Nvidia Orin X processors and up to 33 sensors including deployable lidar units. The Emira takes a simpler approach with optional camera and radar ADAS. Whether your Lotus needs lidar alignment or a straightforward windscreen camera recalibration, our IMI-certified technicians handle both at 70+ UK workshops.

Lotus ADAS Calibration Cost

Calibration costs depend on your specific Lotus model, which ADAS systems need recalibration, and whether mobile or workshop service is required.

Every Lotus model has different ADAS sensors fitted depending on trim level and year. Share your registration and we’ll confirm exactly which systems need calibration.

What Lotus ADAS Calibration Involves

The three most common calibration scenarios for Lotus vehicles — each linked to a dedicated service page.

£199 Starting price

Windscreen Camera Recalibration

Every Lotus with a forward-facing camera — including models with Lane Departure Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Autonomous Emergency Braking — requires camera recalibration after windscreen replacement. This is the most common Lotus ADAS job we carry out.

Radar & Sensor Alignment

Lotus models fitted with Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Detection, or Rear Cross Traffic Alert carry radar modules behind the bumper or grille. Any bodywork repair or bumper removal requires sensor recalibration using manufacturer-specific targets and procedures.

Radar calibration — from £349

Post-Collision Full Check

After any collision repair involving a Lotus, multiple ADAS sensors may be disturbed simultaneously — including cameras, radar modules, and parking sensors. A comprehensive post-collision calibration restores every system to factory tolerances and satisfies insurer documentation requirements.

Lotus ADAS Systems We Calibrate

Lotus splits into two distinct ADAS worlds. The Eletre and Emeya run Lotus Intelligent Driving - a comprehensive suite built around deployable lidar sensors, 11 high-definition cameras, millimetre-wave radars, and ultrasonic sensors. Here is how Lotus names each system:

  • Lotus Intelligent Driving - the full Level 2+ package with Highway Assist (hands-free lane centring and adaptive speed on motorways)
  • Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control (i-ACC) - radar and lidar-based cruise control with automatic braking and acceleration
  • Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) - forward collision detection using lidar, radar, and camera fusion
  • Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) and Lane Change Assist (LCA) - camera-guided lane centring with assisted lane changes
  • Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) - rear-quarter sensors for junction and motorway safety
  • 360° HD Surround View Camera - multi-camera parking and low-speed manoeuvring system
  • Driver Monitoring System (DMS) - cabin-facing infrared camera for attention tracking

The Emira's optional ADAS package is camera and radar-based: Anti-Collision System (AEB), Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Change Assist, RCTA, Fatigue Alert, and Road Sign Information. The First Edition V6 launched without ADAS - later production models added the optional package.

The Eletre uses Hesai AT128 128-channel hybrid solid-state lidar. The Emeya uses RoboSense M Platform sensors. Both process through dual Nvidia Orin X chips - the most powerful ADAS computing hardware on UK roads.

When Your Lotus Needs ADAS Recalibration

After Body Panel or Roof Repair (Eletre/Emeya)

The Eletre's deployable lidar sensors sit in the roof and wheel arch areas. Any body panel, roof, or structural repair near these housings shifts the lidar alignment. Because the sensors physically deploy and retract, even minor panel distortion affects their precision. A body shop that has never seen pop-up lidar will not know this - if your Eletre or Emeya has had paintwork, panel replacement, or collision repair near the sensor housings, specialist recalibration is required.

After Windscreen Replacement

Every ADAS-equipped Lotus has a forward-facing camera bonded to the windscreen glass. When the windscreen is replaced, the camera must be recalibrated to restore AEB, lane keeping, and traffic sign recognition. This applies to both the Eletre/Emeya multi-camera system and the Emira's single front camera. If your windscreen fitter could not complete the calibration, we handle it.

After Bumper Repair or Collision

The front radar sits behind the bumper on all ADAS-equipped Lotus models. A front-end repair - even minor bumper removal for a respray - shifts the radar alignment. If i-ACC or AEB stopped working after body shop work, the radar needs recalibration.

Emira ADAS Uncertainty

Not all Emiras have ADAS fitted. If you bought a used Emira and are unsure whether your car has the optional ADAS package, contact us with your model details - we can confirm whether calibration applies to your specific vehicle.

Lotus Models - Full ADAS Calibration Coverage

The Eletre is the most calibration-intensive Lotus - its deployable Hesai lidar, 11 cameras, and multiple radars create more sensor calibration points than almost any other UK-market vehicle. The Emeya shares the EPA platform and Lotus Intelligent Driving suite with RoboSense lidar. The Emira is far simpler, with optional camera and radar ADAS on later production models.

We calibrate ADAS systems on 3 Lotus models across two entirely different architectures.

Lotus ADAS Calibration — Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about ADAS calibration for your Lotus

Yes – the Eletre's deployable lidar units sit in the roof and body panels. Any structural or cosmetic repair near these housings can shift the lidar alignment. Because the sensors physically deploy and retract, even a slight change in housing geometry affects calibration. This is unique to Lotus in the UK market.
