Mercedes EQE ADAS Calibration

The Mercedes EQE runs on the EVA2 platform – Mercedes's dedicated large-car electric architecture, separate from the smaller EVA used in the EQA and EQB. With Active Steering Assist standard on most trims and the full Intelligent Drive suite, a collision or windscreen replacement that disturbs the radar or multifunction camera shuts down every connected system until professionally recalibrated.

ADAS Systems on the Mercedes EQE

The EQE (V295, 2022+) shares the EVA2 platform with the EQS, carrying a more advanced ADAS suite than Mercedes's compact EVs:

  • DISTRONIC – adaptive cruise control integrating with regenerative braking for efficient following in traffic.
  • Active Steering Assist – semi-autonomous motorway driving. Standard on AMG Line trims.
  • Active Brake Assist – automatic emergency braking via front radar and multifunction camera.
  • Active Lane Keeping Assist – camera-based lane detection with steering correction.
  • PRE-SAFE – pre-collision seatbelt tensioning and window closure.
  • Blind Spot Assist – rear-mounted radar sensors with lane change warning.
  • Traffic Sign Assist – speed limit recognition via the multifunction camera.

Unlike ICE Mercedes models with traditional grilles, the EQE has a sealed front fascia – the radar is integrated into the front panel rather than behind a conventional grille. Front-end repairs involve different panel removal, but the radar calibration follows the same precision alignment process.

When Your EQE Needs ADAS Calibration

After Front-End Collision Repair

Any front panel replacement or repair can shift the DISTRONIC radar behind the sealed fascia. Because EV body repairs require specialist workshops, the ADAS calibration step is sometimes omitted. If DISTRONIC and Active Steering Assist show as unavailable after bodywork, radar calibration is the next step.

Windscreen Replacement

The EQE's multifunction camera handles Active Lane Keeping Assist, Traffic Sign Assist, and automatic high beams. Windscreen replacement disturbs this camera – all three systems need recalibrating.

Intermittent ADAS Warnings

Some EQE owners report DISTRONIC showing as temporarily unavailable without an obvious cause. This can indicate a software issue under warranty, or radar misalignment from minor impacts. A diagnostic scan confirms whether recalibration is needed. We also calibrate the E-Class and GLE across the Mercedes range.

Mercedes EQE Calibration Pricing

ServicePrice
Windscreen Calibration£199
Radar/Sensor Calibration£349
Collision Calibration£349
Full System Reset£499

The EQE's Active Steering Assist depends on both radar and camera alignment. If both were affected by collision repair, our £349 Collision Calibration covers the full recalibration – radar, camera, and diagnostic confirmation – in a single fixed-price session.

Mercedes EQE ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Mercedes EQE

Yes. While both carry DISTRONIC and Active Brake Assist, the EQE is built on the EVA2 platform — a dedicated electric architecture — rather than the E-Class's combustion platform. The sensor hardware is similar but the integration with regenerative braking and energy management adds EV-specific calibration parameters. Our IMI-certified technicians are equipped for both.
