Peugeot 508 ADAS Calibration

The Peugeot 508 is the only Peugeot with Night Vision as a standard feature on higher trims – an infrared camera that detects pedestrians and animals beyond headlight range. When that system loses calibration after front-end bodywork, most garages don't have the specialist equipment to recalibrate it. If your 508's Night Vision, Active Safety Brake, or Adaptive Cruise Control has deactivated after a repair, ADAS Line restores the full Drive Assist suite at a fixed price.

ADAS Systems on Your Peugeot 508

The 508 (2018+, second generation) is Peugeot's most advanced model for ADAS, sitting on the EMP2 platform shared with the 3008:

  • Night Vision – infrared camera behind the front grille, standard on GT/GT Premium trims. Detects pedestrians and large animals up to 200m ahead. Unique to the 508 and some 3008 trims within the Peugeot range.
  • Active Safety Brake – automatic emergency braking using windscreen camera and front radar. Standard across all trims.
  • Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go – radar behind the front bumper. Standard on Allure and above.
  • Active Lane Keeping Assist – windscreen camera monitors lane markings and applies corrective steering.
  • Long Range Blind Spot Monitoring – rear quarter radar sensors covering adjacent lanes at motorway distances.
  • Driver Attention Alert – steering pattern analysis for drowsiness detection.

The 508's executive body gives it a longer front overhang than the 208 or 308, placing the bumper-mounted radar further from the passenger cell. This means even minor parking impacts at the front can reach the radar sensor.

Peugeot 508 – Night Vision and Common ADAS Triggers

Night Vision after front-end bodywork

The 508's Night Vision infrared camera sits behind the front grille area. Collision repair, bumper replacement, or grille removal shifts its alignment. Unlike standard camera and radar systems, Night Vision requires specialist calibration equipment that most body shops and windscreen companies do not carry.

Bumper repair affecting radar and Active Safety Brake

The forward radar behind the front bumper controls both ACC and the radar element of Active Safety Brake. Front-end panel work – even cosmetic bumper resprays that require bumper removal – can shift the radar alignment enough to trigger dashboard warnings. Radar recalibration at our fixed £349 rate resolves this.

Windscreen replacement

The i-Cockpit windscreen camera controls Lane Keeping Assist and Lane Departure Warning, and contributes to Active Safety Brake. After glass replacement, the camera needs recalibrating – see our windscreen replacement ADAS guide for what to expect.

Peugeot 508 ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Peugeot 508

Yes. The infrared camera sits behind the front grille area and shifts position during bumper or grille removal. Night Vision calibration is included in our Full System Reset (£499) alongside radar and camera recalibration. The 508 is one of few Peugeot models with this system.
