Polestar 2 ADAS Calibration

Your Polestar 2 shares its CMA platform with the Volvo XC40 Recharge – identical sensor positions, identical calibration procedures. We calibrate Volvo CMA vehicles every day, which means your Polestar 2's Pilot Assist, Collision Avoidance, and BLIS follow a proven process with no guesswork.

ADAS Systems on Your Polestar 2

The Polestar 2 uses Volvo's CMA (Compact Modular Architecture) platform with 3 radar units, 5 cameras, and 12 ultrasonic sensors:

  • Pilot Assist – Level 2 semi-autonomous driving maintaining speed, following distance, and lane position up to 150 km/h
  • Collision Avoidance – AEB with vehicle, pedestrian, cyclist, and large animal detection
  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) – front radar-based speed and distance management with stop capability
  • Lane Keeping Aid (LKA) – corrective steering when drifting without indicating
  • Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) – side-mounted sensors detecting vehicles in adjacent lanes
  • Cross Traffic Alert (CTA) – rear detection when reversing from parking spaces
  • Road Sign Information (RSI) – camera-based speed sign recognition
  • Run-off Road Mitigation – corrective steering and braking when leaving the road unintentionally

The forward camera sits behind the rear-view mirror. The front radar is integrated into the bumper. Side sensors for BLIS sit in the rear quarters. These are the exact same positions as the Volvo XC40.

Common Polestar 2 Calibration Triggers

After Windscreen Replacement

The camera behind the windscreen drives Pilot Assist, Collision Avoidance, LKA, and RSI. Replacing the glass means the camera loses its calibrated position. If your glazier could not complete the ADAS calibration, we handle it – same procedure as a Volvo XC40 windscreen calibration.

After Bumper Repair

The front radar behind the bumper powers ACC and Collision Avoidance. A bumper replacement or front-end repair shifts the radar alignment. If ACC stopped engaging or you see Pre Sense-style warnings after bodywork, radar recalibration is needed.

After Side Panel or Mirror Work

BLIS sensors sit in the rear quarter panels. If a side panel or mirror has been replaced, blind spot detection may trigger false alerts or fail entirely. The Polestar 3 and Polestar 4 have far more sensors in body panels – the Polestar 2 is simpler but still requires attention after side repairs.
