Porsche Taycan ADAS Calibration

The Porsche Taycan brings InnoDrive to Porsche's electric lineup – predictive adaptive cruise control that reads the road ahead using navigation data, combined with ACC, Lane Keep Assist, and Lane Change Assist on the J1 platform shared with the Audi e-tron GT. As Porsche's first full-production EV, the Taycan carries a comprehensive sensor array, and every system depends on calibration accuracy that degrades with any bumper or windscreen repair.

ADAS Systems on Your Porsche Taycan

The Taycan (2020+) runs on the J1 platform:

  • Porsche InnoDrive – Predictive ACC using navigation, road topology, and speed limits. Requires both front radar and camera precision.
  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) – Front radar behind the lower grille area
  • Porsche Active Safe – AEB with pedestrian and vehicle detection
  • Lane Keep Assist (LKA) – Windscreen camera behind the rearview mirror
  • Lane Change Assist – Rear corner radar for blind spot monitoring
  • Surround View – Multi-camera 360° parking view
  • ParkAssist – Front and rear ultrasonic sensors
  • Traffic Sign Recognition – Camera-based, feeding InnoDrive and instrument cluster

Unlike the Cayenne and Panamera, the Taycan does not offer Night Vision Assist. But it carries the full InnoDrive, radar, camera, and corner radar array – making it a multi-sensor calibration when bodywork is involved.

Common Taycan ADAS Issues

After Front-End Repair

The Taycan's low, wide stance puts the front bumper at barrier and bollard height. The radar behind the lower grille powers InnoDrive, ACC, and Active Safe. A bumper repair shifts this radar – InnoDrive drops to basic cruise and Active Safe disables. Radar calibration at £349 restores all three systems.

After Windscreen Replacement

Lane Keep Assist, TSR, and the camera input to InnoDrive need recalibration after glass replacement. Our £199 Windscreen Calibration covers all camera-dependent systems.

EV-Specific Considerations

The Taycan's regenerative braking and high torque mean rapid deceleration and acceleration patterns. ADAS sensors must be calibrated to account for the EV's driving dynamics – the same physical sensors but calibrated with Porsche's Taycan-specific parameters.

Porsche Taycan ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Porsche Taycan

The Taycan and Audi e-tron GT share the J1 platform with similar sensor architecture. Calibration procedures overlap, and our technicians use VW Group platform expertise across both. However, InnoDrive is Porsche-exclusive — the Audi equivalent uses different software parameters. Our equipment handles both.
