ADAS Calibration for Renault models

One Renault owner came to us after their dealer got the radar alignment wrong - twice. The system was still phantom braking in traffic and missing real obstacles in the next lane. Dealer equipment, dealer technicians, two attempts, same result. We recalibrated it correctly in one appointment. If your Renault's ADAS needs calibrating - after a repair, after a windscreen swap, or after someone else failed to fix it - ADAS Line handles it from £199 at 70+ UK workshops.

Renault ADAS Calibration Cost

Calibration costs depend on your specific Renault model, which ADAS systems need recalibration, and whether mobile or workshop service is required.

Every Renault model has different ADAS sensors fitted depending on trim level and year. Share your registration and we’ll confirm exactly which systems need calibration.

What Renault ADAS Calibration Involves

The three most common calibration scenarios for Renault vehicles — each linked to a dedicated service page.

£199 Starting price

Windscreen Camera Recalibration

Every Renault with a forward-facing camera — including models with Lane Departure Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Autonomous Emergency Braking — requires camera recalibration after windscreen replacement. This is the most common Renault ADAS job we carry out.

Radar & Sensor Alignment

Renault models fitted with Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Detection, or Rear Cross Traffic Alert carry radar modules behind the bumper or grille. Any bodywork repair or bumper removal requires sensor recalibration using manufacturer-specific targets and procedures.

Post-Collision Full Check

After any collision repair involving a Renault, multiple ADAS sensors may be disturbed simultaneously — including cameras, radar modules, and parking sensors. A comprehensive post-collision calibration restores every system to factory tolerances and satisfies insurer documentation requirements.

Renault EASY DRIVE Systems We Calibrate

Renault brands its ADAS technology as "EASY DRIVE" on newer models (Austral, Arkana, new Clio), while older models (Kadjar, pre-2020 Captur) have individual system names:

  • Active Emergency Braking (AEB) - Renault's automatic emergency braking using the front radar sensor. Activates when a collision is detected and the driver hasn't braked. Needs recalibration after any frontal repair.
  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) - Radar-based speed and distance management. The sensor sits behind the front bumper emblem.
  • Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) - Camera-based lane tracking through the windscreen-mounted camera. Requires recalibration after windscreen replacement.
  • Lane Departure Warning (LDW) - Camera-based alerts when the vehicle drifts without indicating. Works alongside LKA.
  • Blind Spot Warning (BSW) - Rear radar sensors monitoring blind spots. Triggered after rear bumper repairs.
  • Highway & Traffic Jam Companion - Renault's Level 2 semi-autonomous system on newer models (Austral, Arkana). Combines ACC with lane centring - both sensors must be calibrated for it to engage.
  • Easy Park Assist - Ultrasonic parking sensors and automated steering. Sensor positions need checking after bumper work.
  • Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) - Camera-dependent, recalibrated alongside LKA after windscreen work.

When Your Renault Needs ADAS Recalibration

After bumper repair or collision: The radar sensor behind the Renault emblem handles Active Emergency Braking and ACC. Front-end collision, bumper replacement, or grille work shifts this sensor. Dashboard warnings appear immediately - and as our customer discovered, even a dealer can get the realignment wrong.

After windscreen replacement: The forward camera controls Lane Keeping Assist, LDW, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Highway & Traffic Jam Companion. A new windscreen means mandatory recalibration for all camera-dependent systems.

When calibration was done incorrectly the first time: Radar misalignment causes two opposite symptoms - phantom braking (braking for obstacles that aren't there) and missed detections (not seeing real obstacles). Both mean the sensor is pointing in the wrong direction. If your Renault is still misbehaving after a previous calibration attempt, the alignment wasn't done to manufacturer specification.

"Renault have done the alignment wrong twice... the system doesn't see some things in the road and also brakes when cars are in a different lane." - That's a real customer who came to us after two failed dealer attempts. Classic radar misalignment - we resolved it in one session.

Renault Models - Full ADAS Calibration Coverage

The Clio is the UK's most popular Renault and our most commonly calibrated model - ADAS has been standard on the Clio since 2019. The Captur crossover and Arkana coupe-crossover both carry the full EASY DRIVE suite on current models. The Austral (replacing the Kadjar) and Megane E-Tech electric hatchback add the latest sensor technology.

Renault ADAS Calibration — Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about ADAS calibration for your Renault

EASY DRIVE is Renault's brand name for their driver assistance suite on newer models – covering Active Emergency Braking, ACC, Lane Keeping Assist, and Highway & Traffic Jam Companion. Older Renaults (Kadjar, pre-2020 Captur) have the same individual systems without the EASY DRIVE branding.
