ADAS Systems on Your Renault Scenic

The Scenic E-Tech (2024+) represents a complete departure from the previous MPV generations. Built on the CMF-EV platform, it carries Renault's most comprehensive ADAS suite:

  • Highway & Traffic Jam Companion – Level 2 system combining ACC with lane centring. Requires both radar and camera within tight tolerances. Standard on Techno and Esprit Alpine.
  • Active Emergency Braking (AEB) – front radar behind the bumper, standard on all Scenic E-Tech models.
  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) – radar-based, standard on all trims.
  • Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW) – windscreen camera for active correction and drift alerts.
  • Blind Spot Warning (BSW) – rear-quarter sensors from mid-grade trims.
  • Safe Distance Warning – radar-based following-distance alerts.
  • Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) – camera-dependent, reads speed limits.
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) – detects approaching vehicles when reversing.

Previous Scenic generations (2016–2022) had more limited ADAS – AEB and LDW on higher trims only. If you own an older Scenic, those systems still need calibration after repair, but the sensor array is simpler.

When Your Scenic Needs ADAS Recalibration

After windscreen replacement – the forward camera manages LKA, LDW, TSR, and the lane centring function of Highway & Traffic Jam Companion. The Scenic E-Tech's larger windscreen means precise glass fitment is critical – slight positional differences affect camera alignment.

After front bumper or collision repair – the radar handles AEB, ACC, Safe Distance Warning, and the speed-matching element of Highway & Traffic Jam Companion. The Scenic's crossover proportions mean more frontal surface area for impact – any bumper work shifts the radar position.

When multiple ADAS warnings appear simultaneously – if your Scenic shows faults across both camera and radar systems after a collision, both sensors need recalibrating. Highway & Traffic Jam Companion won't re-engage until both are within specification.

Renault Scenic ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Renault Scenic

Completely different. The previous Scenic (2016–2022) was a petrol/diesel MPV with basic ADAS on certain trims. The Scenic E-Tech (2024+) is a fully electric crossover on the CMF-EV platform with the full EASY DRIVE suite including Highway & Traffic Jam Companion — more sensors and tighter calibration tolerances.
