Honda Accord ADAS Calibration

The Honda Accord carries the same Honda SENSING system as the Civic – but as a larger executive saloon that covers serious motorway mileage, the Accord's LKAS and Adaptive Cruise Control see more sustained daily use. If your Accord's millimeter wave radar has been displaced during a bumper repair or the LKAS camera needs recalibration after a windscreen replacement, we handle the calibration that restores the systems you depend on for every commute.

Honda SENSING on the Accord

The 10th-generation Accord (2018–present) is the most relevant for UK ADAS calibration:

10th-gen Accord (CV, 2018+): Honda SENSING standard on all trims. The full suite includes:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) – Millimeter wave radar behind the front Honda badge/grille area maintains speed and following distance.
  • Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) – Honda's AEB. Uses radar and camera together for vehicle, pedestrian, and cyclist detection.
  • Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) – Active lane centring through the windscreen camera.
  • Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) – Steering and braking intervention if the vehicle leaves the road.
  • Blind Spot Information (BSI) – Radar-based blind spot monitoring on higher specifications.
  • Traffic Sign Recognition – Camera-based speed limit display.

9th-gen Accord (CR, 2012–2017): Limited UK availability and minimal ADAS. Some late-production models offered basic forward collision warning, but Honda SENSING wasn't available on this generation in the UK.

Accord-specific detail: The 10th-gen Accord's longer bonnet and wider grille compared to the Civic positions the radar sensor further forward. This means front-end impacts at even moderate speeds affect the radar zone. The Accord's saloon profile also makes it a common motorway vehicle where stone chip windscreen damage is more frequent.

Why Your Honda Accord Might Need Calibration

Front-end collision or bumper repair: The Accord's millimeter wave radar behind the front grille is displaced by any front-end work. Error code P2583-76 – "Misalignment Millimeter Wave Radar" – is the same DTC that appears on the Civic and CR-V. ACC and CMBS both deactivate until the radar is professionally recalibrated.

Windscreen replacement: The Accord covers high motorway mileage, making windscreen stone chip damage common. After windscreen replacement, the camera behind the rearview mirror needs static recalibration. Without it, LKAS, RDM, and Traffic Sign Recognition won't function correctly.

Cat S/N Accord purchases: The Accord appears in the UK used market with prior collision history. If you've purchased an Accord and the Honda SENSING systems aren't engaging, the millimeter wave radar likely wasn't recalibrated during previous repairs. A diagnostic scan confirms the status. Honda Accord ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Honda Accord

Yes. Both use the same millimeter wave radar and windscreen camera system. The Accord's larger body positions the radar slightly further forward, but the calibration procedure and diagnostic approach are identical. Our technicians handle both models with the same OEM-grade equipment. See all Honda models.
