ADAS Calibration for Polestar models

Four models, three different platform architectures, and sensor configurations that range from a straightforward camera-and-radar setup on the Polestar 2 to an 11-camera array on the Polestar 4 - a car with no rear window that depends entirely on rear cameras for rearward visibility. Polestar builds on Volvo's safety engineering heritage, using Pilot Assist, BLIS, and Collision Avoidance across the range, but each platform requires its own calibration expertise. ADAS calibration for your Polestar from £199, at 70+ UK workshops.

Polestar ADAS Calibration Cost

Calibration costs depend on your specific Polestar model, which ADAS systems need recalibration, and whether mobile or workshop service is required.

Every Polestar model has different ADAS sensors fitted depending on trim level and year. Share your registration and we’ll confirm exactly which systems need calibration.

What Polestar ADAS Calibration Involves

The three most common calibration scenarios for Polestar vehicles — each linked to a dedicated service page.

£199 Starting price

Windscreen Camera Recalibration

Every Polestar with a forward-facing camera — including models with Lane Departure Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Autonomous Emergency Braking — requires camera recalibration after windscreen replacement. This is the most common Polestar ADAS job we carry out.

Radar & Sensor Alignment

Polestar models fitted with Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Detection, or Rear Cross Traffic Alert carry radar modules behind the bumper or grille. Any bodywork repair or bumper removal requires sensor recalibration using manufacturer-specific targets and procedures.

Radar calibration — from £349

Post-Collision Full Check

After any collision repair involving a Polestar, multiple ADAS sensors may be disturbed simultaneously — including cameras, radar modules, and parking sensors. A comprehensive post-collision calibration restores every system to factory tolerances and satisfies insurer documentation requirements.

Collision calibration — from £349

Polestar ADAS Systems We Calibrate

Polestar uses Volvo-derived ADAS terminology throughout the range. If you have owned a Volvo, you will recognise the system names - but the hardware implementation varies by platform:

  • Pilot Assist - Polestar's Level 2 system: maintains speed, following distance, and lane position using radar and camera data, functional up to 150 km/h
  • Collision Avoidance / City Safety - Volvo-derived automatic emergency braking detecting vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists, and large animals
  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) - radar-based speed and distance management with full stop capability
  • Lane Keeping Aid (LKA) - corrective steering when drifting without indicating
  • Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) - a Volvo-originated trademark; monitors adjacent lanes using side sensors
  • Cross Traffic Alert (CTA) - detects approaching traffic when reversing from parking
  • Road Sign Information (RSI) - camera-based speed limit and sign recognition
  • 360° Surround View - multi-camera parking system (Polestar 3 and 4)
  • Run-off Road Mitigation - detects unintentional road departure and applies corrective steering and braking
  • Oncoming Lane Mitigation - steers back into lane if drifting toward oncoming traffic
  • Driver Alert Control (DAC) - monitors driving patterns for fatigue

The Polestar 2 uses a single front camera and front radar - the same CMA platform sensor layout as the Volvo XC40 Recharge. The Polestar 3 and 4 step up dramatically to 11 exterior cameras, a mid-range radar, and 12 ultrasonic sensors.

When Your Polestar Needs ADAS Recalibration

After Windscreen Replacement

Every Polestar has a forward-facing camera behind the windscreen. When the glass is replaced, the camera must be recalibrated to restore Pilot Assist, Collision Avoidance, Lane Keeping Aid, and Road Sign Information. This is the most common calibration trigger across all Polestar models - and one of our most frequent jobs.

After Bumper or Body Panel Repair

The front radar sits behind the bumper on all models. On the Polestar 3 and 4, cameras are mounted on nearly every body panel - front, sides, B-pillars, rear quarters. A minor side repair on a Polestar 4 can affect two or three camera positions simultaneously. Any collision repair on a Polestar 3 or 4 should include a full sensor check.

Polestar 4 - Rear Cameras Are Not Optional

The Polestar 4 has no rear window. Rearward visibility depends entirely on a rear-facing camera feeding a digital display. If the rear camera is miscalibrated after a tailgate or bumper repair, you lose rear visibility - this is not a convenience feature, it is how you see behind the car. Rear camera calibration on the Polestar 4 is safety-critical.

Polestar 2 - CMA Platform, Known Territory

The Polestar 2 shares its CMA platform with the Volvo XC40 Recharge and C40 Recharge. Sensor positions and calibration procedures are identical. We calibrate Volvo CMA vehicles every day - your Polestar 2 follows the same process with the same equipment.

Polestar Models - Full ADAS Calibration Coverage

The Polestar 2 is the volume model - CMA platform with standard Pilot Assist, BLIS, and Collision Avoidance. The Polestar 3 is the large SUV sharing its SPA2 platform with the Volvo EX90, carrying 11 cameras and the most advanced sensor array in the range. The Polestar 4 runs on Geely's SEA2 platform - the SUV coupe with no rear window and camera-dependent rearward visibility.

We calibrate ADAS systems on 4 Polestar models across three distinct platform architectures.

Polestar ADAS Calibration — Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about ADAS calibration for your Polestar

The Polestar 2 shares its CMA platform with the Volvo XC40/C40 Recharge – identical sensor layout and calibration procedures. The Polestar 3 shares SPA2 architecture with the Volvo EX90. However, the Polestar 4 uses Geely's SEA2 platform with no direct Volvo equivalent. We calibrate [Volvo](/volvo) models daily, and that expertise transfers directly to Polestar's Volvo-derived platforms.
