Renault Megane ADAS Calibration

Your Megane's cruise control won't hold distance after a front bumper repair. The radar sensor behind the Renault emblem has shifted – and a simple error code clear won't fix it. If your Renault Megane's Active Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, or Lane Keeping Assist needs recalibrating after a repair or collision, ADAS Line provides fixed-price calibration from £199 at 70+ UK workshops.

ADAS Systems on Your Renault Megane

The fourth-generation Megane (2016–2023) sits on Renault's CMF-C/D platform and introduced meaningful ADAS across the range. The system configuration depends on year and trim:

  • Active Emergency Braking (AEB) – front radar sensor behind the bumper emblem, standard from 2016. Detects vehicles and pedestrians at speed and brakes automatically.
  • Lane Departure Warning (LDW) – windscreen-mounted camera tracks lane markings. Standard on most 2016+ models.
  • Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) – active steering correction using the same forward camera. Available on Iconic and higher trims from 2020.
  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) – radar-based speed and distance management. Available on mid-to-high trims from the 2020 facelift onwards.
  • Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) – camera-dependent, reads speed limits and displays them on the instrument cluster.
  • Blind Spot Warning (BSW) – rear-quarter radar sensors on GT-Line and above.

Pre-facelift Meganes (2016–2019) typically have AEB and LDW but lack ACC and LKA. The 2020 facelift brought the wider ADAS suite to more trims – worth checking your exact spec before booking.

Why Your Megane Might Need ADAS Calibration

After front bumper repair – the Megane's radar sensor sits behind the Renault emblem on the front bumper. Collision repair, bumper replacement, or grille work moves the sensor enough to throw Active Emergency Braking and ACC off-target. If your Megane is phantom braking or ACC refuses to engage after bodywork, the radar angle has shifted.

After windscreen replacement – the forward camera mounted behind the rearview mirror controls LDW, LKA, and TSR. A new windscreen requires camera recalibration before these systems reactivate. Windscreen fitters replace the glass but rarely have the equipment to recalibrate the camera.

After a previous failed calibration – if the dealer or another workshop attempted calibration but your Megane's systems are still misbehaving, the alignment wasn't done to manufacturer specification. Our IMI-certified technicians use OEM-grade equipment configured for the Megane's specific sensor positions.

Renault Megane ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Renault Megane

Yes, if it has Active Emergency Braking and Lane Departure Warning — both are standard on most 2016+ Megane models. AEB relies on the front radar, and LDW relies on the windscreen camera. Both need recalibration after the relevant repair.
