Subaru Impreza ADAS Calibration

The Impreza was one of the first Subaru models to receive EyeSight in the UK – from 2017 onward, the stereo camera system became available as standard on higher trims. While the Impreza is no longer sold new in the UK, plenty remain on the road with EyeSight systems that need calibration after windscreen replacement. The same dual-camera architecture as the Forester and Outback applies – no front radar, windscreen is everything.

ADAS Systems on Your Subaru Impreza

The Impreza (2017+ with EyeSight) uses the Subaru Global Platform:

  • EyeSight Driver Assist Technology – dual stereo cameras behind the windscreen
  • Pre-Collision Braking (PCB) – automatic emergency braking for vehicles and pedestrians
  • EyeSight Adaptive Cruise Control – camera-based following distance, no front radar
  • Lane Departure Warning – alerts when drifting toward lane markings
  • Lane Sway Warning – detects erratic steering patterns suggesting fatigue
  • Lead Vehicle Start Alert – notification when the car ahead moves

The Impreza does not have DriverFocus (available on the Forester and Outback) or Advanced Lane Centering. Its EyeSight configuration is similar to the XV of the same era.

When Your Subaru Impreza Needs Calibration

After Windscreen Replacement

Both stereo cameras are mounted to the windscreen. A glass swap requires recalibration using Subaru-specific targets. If your windscreen fitter couldn't complete the EyeSight calibration, our Windscreen Calibration at £199 covers both cameras.

"EyeSight Disabled" Warning

If the Impreza shows "EyeSight Disabled," all connected systems shut down – Pre-Collision Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Lane Departure Warning all go offline. Windscreen replacement is the most common trigger.

After Collision Affecting the Windscreen Area

No front radar means bumper repairs don't trigger EyeSight faults. But any impact to the windscreen, A-pillars, or camera bracket requires recalibration.

Subaru Impreza ADAS Calibration — FAQ

Common questions about calibrating ADAS systems on the Subaru Impreza

EyeSight became available on the UK Impreza from 2017. Check your specification — if your dashboard has an "EyeSight" indicator and you have adaptive cruise control, your Impreza has the stereo camera system. Pre-2017 Imprezas do not have EyeSight.
